So who is in it now? If both nurses were sent away.

I haven't watched or read the news the past two days, only heard bits and pieces from my mom.

Here's a big update. A doctor in New York has contracted Ebola. That's not the half of it. There's a video of police with mask on throwing away medical gloves, in a trash can, on the public streets! The trash can is basically in the center of the city. Same city, New York.
The doctor went on a 3 mile jog...watching it now...he did go on the subways!

I'm pretty annoyed that we haven't issued a travel ban yet. We haven't reached epidemic proportions domestically in the US, so the best way to keep that from happening is to issue a travel ban until things decompress in Africa.

It probably doesn't matter at this point. The cdc tested controlled outbreaks in New York. The number one spot to spread a disease is the subway system. Not to mention he's had it in him for a month!

I think they should ban travel to the US from the problem areas in Africa, unless the travelers are US citizens. It would be unfair to prevent US citizens from coming back to the US, though they need to be quarantined somehow on those planes if they suspect they have been infected.

The problem with that is American citizens are going to Africa "to help" and coming back infected. Like this doctor in New York. The controlled test the cdc did in the past wasn't just a spread of a disease in New York. It was to figure out the most vulnerable places in America for a disease to spread. The New York subway is the quickest way to spread a desease. Stopping travel would slow the spread. I'm just saying living here for a month and using the subways! There's not a doubt in my mind New York is infected.
The controlled test the cdc did infected the city in literally hours. That is if you hopped on a subway.

These doctors that go to help in West Africa are saints, but they're also stupid for coming home just two days after treating patients. Wait 1-2 weeks to comeback. Come on, you're a doctor! Have some common sense.

I just wanted to point out, the infected doctor was infected for a week? CNN originally said he had it for a month... Although, they did say he was sick with a fever for 4 days. The CDC changed that fact to, "as soon as he was running a temperature, he went to a hospital". The cdc also said no cause for alarm... changing the amount of time he was sick in the city is alarming to me.

Ebola makes me nervous. I live in Odessa, It has one of the best economies in the nation now with the oil field booming. the thing is before there was never any people from Africa here. Now since that past months there have been a lot of African people here. I would say around March I started seeing lots of African workers, working at Lowe's,walmart, oil field jobs, and just about every where. they even speak African languages. many from Kenya, Nigeria and Ethiopia. And since then it has increased, you go to the mall, walmart and you see a lot of people speaking African/middle easter sounding language and the women wearing traditional clothing. I have never seen this many African immigration any wehre and many Africans seem to like Odessa. It just makes me nervous, because I am afraid that someone that's infected with ebola might come here considering that ebola is from that region

What was the point of bumping this 4 month old thread with that post, and tagging the person who made it? And this is in the Non-DragonBall Discussion section, so it is on topic.

There's nothing political, religious, sexual, or potentially offensive about a topic about ebola Seal
