I mean, I was trying on clothes at a store today, and got to thinking after slipping 4 shirts on and off... "what if the guy who died the other day had come to this store 2 weeks ago, tried on this shirt before me, and I now have had contact with his sweat, and possibly even his mucus as he removed the t-shirt from his head" something to kind of weirdly think about. I interact with patients suffering with deadly contagious diseases very closely, on a daily basis, but i'm not being paranoid like this. The recent epidemic outbreak in west Africa in concerning, and I feel bad for those effected with the virus, but i'm aware that there are many other deadly contagious diseases out there, with a much higher death toll.

What's with all this fear-mongering guys? Seriously calm down. Do you think these people are amateurs? They aren't going to allow it to spread even if certain people are treated in the US.
And about the powers that be, yeah yeah sure stick it to the man. I bet the Illuminati did Ebola.

Well, duh. The Illuminati does everything. They fill puppies with AIDS and high explosives and use them as grenades against the homeless.

I don't understand the concept of blaming the "1%". Super rich people do more to benefit your lives than any of you could understand. Next time you think about blaming the billionaires, think about the billionaire making a simple sandwich so more can be donated. Think about the billionaire saving $1 every chance they have so more can be saved for future generations. Not to mention the billionaire driving a beater, to better serve people like you. All I have ever seen from the super rich is kindness. Really all they do is donate and help the community. Much more than a government could ever follow through with.
No matter how much you want to disagree, it's the closest thing to the truth you will ever hear.
This is meant towards previous comments. This is also not meant twords the super rich that are rich from government and Enron, as an example. Really meant twords the super conservative, super rich.

Back on topic:
I asked Mark Fielder, a Professor of medical microbiology at Kingston University in London about whether or not Ebola is capable of becoming airborne. Here's his response:
"All biological entities can mutate and they do, however these changes are mostly small subtle changes. Having a capability that is very large like being able to be come airborn (and I realise you are talking about microbes here but even so) is unlikely as a result of a single mutation event. Microorganisms can mutate in small steps generally that can lead to larger changes. But changing properties on the scale you mention in the question is less likely in the short term."

Just heard this on the local radio. A Purdue university professor said the Ebola virus is trying to mutate to go airborne. He has studied Ebola since 2003.
That's all the radio said so I'll add a bit. If they say it's possible to mutate airborne now, it has mutated enough to make it possible. As in mutates of bleeding, vomit, sneezing, exetera. To reach a airborne potential it has to mutate small abilities, such as those. I'm not an expert, those are examples of mutations. Not necessarily needed for a airborne virus.
For people not in the U.S. a nerse died from being in contact with an Ebola patient, that has since died. The nerse used protective equipment, suit, and still died.

I don't know if the nurse in Dallas died, as I haven't been updated on news today, but one of the nurses who was taking care of Duncan in Dallas did manage to catch ebola despite wearing a hazmat suit and other things. She lives sort of by uptown (neighborhood in Dallas) called the M streets. She has a husband and a dog, and what generally happens in ebola cases is they unfortunately euthanize pets because they spread the disease despite not being affected by it, since it only affects humans (and certain kinds affect apes as well).

If you can find some real sources on the professor talking about it becoming airborne then let me know. I personally asked the person I quoted above about the possibility of the disease becoming airborne and the response satisfies me, though I'm always happy to hear other credible information.

The nurse in Spain contracted Ebola and wore a protective suit, but acknowledged she may have touched her face with the glove while removing the suit, so the suit is not always to blame.
