Hello everyone, here is my latest custom WIP. As you can see he is almost done, I just need to come up with his tail. This figure is made from extra parts from different figures that I had customize before.
Btw I would like to give Elothk a BIG thanks for his inspiring figuarts cooler. I know his custom cooler and mine are totally different but it's because of his custom that made me make my own version of cooler. I watch his video on YouTube over and over just to get an idea how each details are sculpted.
Oh and if some of you are wondering why he doesn't have hip/waist articulation is because the ball joint didn't match on the upper torso. I was going to use the peg/ball joint that is compatible with the upper torso but Im gonna need to crack the lower torso open and replace the peg. Since I'm not a doctor on customizing (I don't know how to crack the figures open and I'm scared to do it) I just permanently connect the upper and lower and sacrifice the articulation.

Cool.

See what I did there? His name is "Cooler" so I said "cool". Ha, I'm hysterical.

Finally. A Metal Cooler. I've been hating on myself for not making one yet. He looks really cool, though I suggest the eyes be bigger and the toes not so chunky or thick. Good sculpting overall. Also, is he made using Vegeta's body? Because then he might be too short.

He looks really cool! If it isn't too late and this custom is going in your collection, I agree that the toes need to be redone. Referring to the Jakks Mecha Frieza's beautifully done toes would be helpful. They would look better more dainty.

he looks great, but he need to be much more shiny. No paint can achieve the shininess of meta cooler. He was depicted to be made of chrome. And the only way to achieve that on figure is commission a service called electro plating.
great figure overall

You might experiment with painting multiple layers of Delta Ceramcoat pearl (without mixing it with the silver) on top of him and see if you get the shine you desire. I haven't tried it over silver yet, just various shades of yellow. I am pretty impressed with how that looks when you don't try mixing it, and instead just use it like a layer of paint. I'm not impressed with how it looks when mixed with a color, which is something I discussed in length in my WIP topic.
Everything looks super cool though other than those blocky toes. The abdominal area is a little short, but that's ok, no going back now. Carving the toes to be triangles instead of blocks will visually make him look more slender too as a visual trick.

Okay first of all thanks to everyone. Now there is a size comparison with bardock, sorry bad angle but he is as tall as normal goku. Again he is not 100% done and for the brand of paint I use he can't go shinier than that, so once his done I will spray semi gloss sealer and hope it will add more shine to it. I knew I forgot something, his feet is not done and thank you for pointing that out. I'll definitely going to fix it for sure .

He's looking really good so far. I can tell u that they make chrome silver paints Tamiya makes one as do many others that would be the first I would try as I think cooler looks like he was dipped in chrome in the anime lol they also make chrome colored pens that u might could use to add highlights in certain areas making him appear to be shiner than he really is. I used one of the pens on a piece that went to one of the gundams I built and I thought it looked pretty good. Anyway just a few suggestions.

Timone I almost listed that exact same spray paint but I know a lot of people r turned off by using spray paint on figures but I've used that exact same kind at my old work touching up some stuff that was like a chrome metal and it ended up being way to shiny lol

I don't really recommend spray paint on anything articulated. It's such a pain in the ass to use, and you'll gunk up the joints and cause yourself more problems.
He really looks fine as he is. Would he look cooler (ha!) in chrome? Sure! But is it worth the pain and suffering? Nah. Fix the toes, paint him up, and tell me how in the world you're doing his tail when it is covered in segments because I eventually have to do one too lol.

Thanks fellas, I actually bought the chrome silver now that you mentioned it. I bought it over the weekend and I totally forgot about it in my car. I will try the tamiya chrome silver first but I am liking that picture that timone posted. Only thing is I'm bad at paint spraying. I saw in Home Depot or lowes can't remember and they had those valspar spray paint. Might go check it out tomorrow.

It would be freaking amazing if u could use a mixture of white chrome and black like in this picture but that would be an extremely tall order but he would be the best cooler out there if u could pull it off
