Just so everyone's aware, there's pre-order listings for the bootleg of The Tones.
We will start getting bootlegs (took them long enough).

Because reusing the same mold requires less effort and still makes money, and that's what businesses do. Yea I know that, obviously, but most people just look to buy one version. If they made different characters they would make a higher profit. Not really disagreeing, but the profit would probably be around the same. They'd save money because they wouldn't have to hire a sculptor to make a different mold, wouldn't have to make different castings, wouldn't have to go through the time consuming process of getting sculpts approved. They actually save money by making one character and releasing it with different paintjobs. For example, a lot of the regular MSP Gokus used the same parts, but minor things were changed. For example, the exact same body sculpt was used for SSj Goku and regular Goku. The only thing that was changed was his head sculpt. The Trunkses used the same body, the SSjBlue Goku and Base DBS Goku used the same body. Vegetto had the same pants sculpt as the Gokus, and the arms were simply changed and the head sculpt was different. The Vegetas, Freeza, Gohan (before the recolor) and Gotenks were the only ones with entirely different sculpts than the rest of them.

Does anyone know anything about this reissue of the SMSP Tones?
It says end of August, but are they re-issuing all four, or just that one?

It's real. There's two more variants slated for next month (6 total), and then the seventh is the Game edition coming out at the end of October. Rumor is that the original 4 will be re-issued as well in September, but all the six pictured will be Ichiban Kuji.

So can anyone confirm or deny if the Animation Version is the same thing as the Brush?
I heard somewhere it wasn't, but it looks the same to me.

Why is the chest part grey? That's weird.
But it looks like they shortened the hair a bit from the prototype, and the legs might've been elongated a bit.

Given the apparent quality of RoS, I wouldn't bank on SC7 being much better. RoS quality looks pretty sub-par as well. I think Banpresto has moved on from quality Crane Games figures, but if we're going to keep getting higher priced figures with quality like the SMSP, it doesn't really bother me too much. What do you think is wrong with the ROS figures? I think they are superb. They're not the same quality as SC5 or earlier. They're closer to the quality of SC6.

The thing that bothers me the most about that Chocoolate company is that they use the wrong "lets". It's a contraction of the words "let" and "us"... let's.
I'm sorry, I'm a grammar nazi, but it's really irritating.

I did Ad blocker Plus. It works. All I get is a notice to consider disabling it to "support Proboards by disabling it as they don't use audio ads".
It's a lie. They do have audio and video ads. That's the entire reason I got it.
As for the OP, I only use FB because there's usually a quicker response to questions there.

Ok, I found out more about that weird Goku repaint. ":Chocoolate" is a store based in Hong Kong.
Most of their stores are in China, and south east Asian countries. Their only non-Asian location is Vancouver, Canada.
There's a webpage for them, but it doesn't seem that you can register an account with them for online ordering. It seems that their sales are specifically in-store.
So this Master Stars Piece variant is probably going to be the most rare. I can't imagine more than a few thousand being made.

All I'm saying is that in the hair you can see the brushstrokes; which to me, cries custom. The paint lines are wavy as well, which says they were hand-painted.
If this is indeed supposed to be released in the Summer (which is now), we would've undoubtedly seen a prototype before now, and even a production piece ready to go.
Leung Gokou isn't always 100% correct. Last year he reported that the Medicos 1 was getting a reissue in September (2015), and it ended up being version 2.

I skipped Goku, but I'm looking forward to this one. The quality on these don't seem to be much of an improvement over SC6, but this Vegeta looks sweet! The thing that gets me though is that for some reason, they decided to put the production stamp on his butt and not on his boot like 90% of other Banpresto figures. Goku was the same as well. It throws your eye off as your looking at the figure, although not by much.

vedreta They've always falsely advertised for the box art on ZEROs. They always use the raw prototypes for the box art, which is 100% false advertising. Banpresto at least has the decency to use (heavily photoshopped) production pieces. I'm fairly certain that they're using a different sculptor for Figuarts now, both for SHF and Zeros. This explains why we're getting a SSj Vegeta SHF with a totally different look in the face. INORI was the guy doing it, and even though his likenesses aren't perfect, he was closer to likeness than the ones now. I think he might've jumped ship and started working for Banpresto. I have a hunch that the guy who did this SSj3 Goku might be KOBA-POLY, or at least he did the majority of the body. He's the one who did that god awful standing SSj2 Goku for SCultures 6. The faces and feet look the same. (Yes, Banpresto and Bandai are technically the same company, but the individual companies do compete for customers and sales).
