Reboot of this thread, but the overseas release of Vegeta is September. Good God, that's a 10 month pre-order for me.

Yes, but when we compare, Prototype is really 100% Better! It was just PERFECT The Head of Retail version seems a little less good, and the jacket is just horrible... Shoulders are really too big, not respectful to the serie at all, and The material of the jacket does not seem to be the same... I'm really disapointed by this Android 18, because the prototype was just perfect, it was one of the best DOD we ever seen! It's the first time that retail version is inferior to proto, and i want to try to Fix this jacket but i don't know how... This is why I have trust issues.

That Tsume is being hailed by many as being perfect, which is a travesty. While it is nice, the face and hair is stylized and looks a little off. Lol and the clothing texture is just not in DBZ style. And it's Uber expensive!! I agree with this 100%. Tsume's work isn't bad, but his prices are out of my range and I've complained since day one about Majin Vegeta's face. The eyebrow muscles (where they anchor) are set way too low, and I feel like the face should have more depth. It's unbearably flat. Even the lack of depth in the eyes is just lazy, imo. The jumpsuit is a weird texture as well, which is the most off-putting thing about it, but the anatomy sculpt is pretty good. However, his Bardock is by far the worst one to date. The face not only looks nothing like Bardock, but the placement of the eyes are too high. The sculpting on the pelvic region was his worst atrocity because it was flat. Bardock's clothes are skin tight, and there was basically no attempt at all to sculpt the muscles (or package) beneath his pants. The knee caps are have different placements on each leg, his nipple is way to far out to the side, and the cracks on his armor look like s***. Kozo's Bardock from SC5 blows this junk out of the water, and it's a fraction of the price. I have to say that the best thing about this figure is the base.

After last year's fiasco with lackluster quality, I'm skeptical if SCultures is a line I'm willing to pay attention to for the future. We'll see how SC7 goes, but to be honest, I'm not excited about any of these except for maybe the Bulma and Piccolo.

Tsume's stuff is nice, but $700 for a 1/4 statue is out of my price range. And Tsume garnered a license from Toei a couple years ago, but they weren't always licensed. I must say, out of all their pieces, the Piccolo and Gohan is amazing. Too bad that one sold out too.
And MSP had some "slightly" different poses, but they were the same general generic standing poses.
I don't mind standing poses. These poses might seem boring, but the detail no the sculpt for SMSP is phenomenal. I'd rather have detail than a cool pose (but both is even better) because it showcases the artist's skill with texturing and detail.

What scene are they depicting for this Vegeta? Was the body pose of Vegeta only made like this to pair with Goku? Just by looking at the SMSP Goku, you know exactly what that bad ass scene is from. This Vegeta is still very cool, but could've been better. For the first time ever, I might end up getting the brush instead of two dimensions. I think it's just a generic pose. The Goku was definitely based off this one:

People keep complaining about the Vegeta's head sculpt, but it's actually VERY close to the manga depictions of him at that point in the series: Same with Goku. People keep complaining about his head sculpt, but it's VERY close to Toriyama's style from that point in the series.

It's a Hong Kong seller. They're usually a bit pricey on their Crane Games items, but the SMSP Vegeta has a very good price on him. I've ordered from them before, so I can vouche. It's a legit seller. It's only the Brush Variant. I assume that The Brush version is getting the international release, the same as the Brush Goku; because only Hong Kong and Taiwan sellers are listing SMSP Vegeta now. Brush Goku was released internationally in a window box and marketed as "The Animation Version" outside Japan. I think it's safe to assume that they'll be doing the same with Vegeta. Oh okay thanks. So its just the box that is different right? Do you think Gamestop will have it too one day since its the international release? I believe so. The only real difference I believe might be a sticker or something saying "Gamestop Exclusive" or something. For the Goku one going through Gamestop, the figure itself is "The Brush" (to my knowledge), which would make sense because it would be the international version. To be perfectly honest, the Gamestop Goku is the one I've been (patiently) waiting on just because I don't have to worry about shipping. I'm pissed that they pushed the date back 3 times, and it's getting uncomfortably close to Christmas. However, on Bandai America's website, they also list Barnes and Nobel as well as Hot Topic as distributors of this same figure, so it won't only be available through Gamestop.

Pre-ordered Vegeta. Dendenhobby store has the cheapest price I could find at just over $85USD shipped. I'm not completely sold on Vegeta, but if I don't like him 100%, I can easily resell. I'm pretty sure I'll like him enough though. It's still one of the best Vegetas ever to come out. To be perfectly honest, we haven't actually seen a good shot of them next to each other, and there's plenty of time to re-do tooling for scale, so I'm not worried about it. Hi, is Dendenhobby a legit store in Japan? Do they sell the four different variations or just one? I am most likely going to end up buying him too. The videos of him look much better than the pictures. But I still like the MSP version more. It's a Hong Kong seller. People don't seem to like this Vegeta, but to me, it's WAYYY closer to the Vegeta than the original MSP was, and these are the same people raving about that one.

It's not just you. He's to tall...he's just off. I actually agree with you on that. He should be a tad shorter. However, I think it could be an illusion. His scale looks better in the promotional picture of him and Goku next to each other, so it could just be the angle we're seeing him in that amateur picture.

I don't know I'm loving the mouth. I agree. The mouth looks a bit funky.

The Brush one is the one in the promotional pics correct? I'm just confused because they seemed to have changed the order for Vegeta. It seems for Vegeta: 01 Original 02 Brush 03 Two Dimensions 04 Tones Goku: 01 Brush 02 Original 03 Tones 04 Two Dimensions Unless this is simply a random order right now. I love the Vegeta in the top right, which I assume is Brush. I think my favorite Goku is actually The Original, but I don't think the Vegeta here looks good with those colors. I think the order is from right to left, therefore the order is the same. Goddammit... I forgot this was a Japanese flier.

I colorized Broly. I dunno why.... I feel like they're more likely to make his hair blue-ish instead of black, but I don't know. This take on Broly really is refreshing. I wish one would be a regular release and the other some Ichiban Kuji version. Let's hope for the best. All the other sculpts also look really amazing. I would have prefered a less goofy Mr Satan, like the RoS one, but with a more dynamic pose. Oh and it's probably safe to assume that we will see the according Vegeta to the Goku at some point. I agree, which is probably the only reason why I'll buy that Goku. As for the unveiling, I can't say I'm super thrilled about any of these. The Bulma and Broly are the two best imo, which sucks because I was hoping that Hiroyuki Nakazawa was going to give us a knockout Piccolo, but like his action pose SSj3 last year, it's mediocre at best. Piccolo's actual cranium looks a bit small, however the detail is very well done. I just hope that the molding this year doesn't erase detail like last year. If Banpresto cheaps out on us like they did this past year, count me out of SCultures for good.
