I own the highly coveted Trunks Figuarts, and some people are willing to pay $250+ for one. Just glad I own it, but it's technically my husband's. It was a gift I got for him for Valentine's day. I don't even think he's opened it.
Most of the HQDX figures are overrated. The only one I can think of that's really good is the Gotenks one. I said earlier that the Vegetto one is bad, and I stand by what I said, however, I have come to own it since that comment. It's satisfying in it's own right, but still ugly as sin.
The only reason why I like it was because it was a gift from my husband.

Today I visited the nearby mall to simply have something to do, and wandered into Barnes and Nobel.
I was looking at the collectables, not expecting to find anything for DBZ merch, but I turned a corner, and saw that they had DBZ Figuarts. They had Piccolo, Base Goku, and the Freeza FIGUARTS ZERO. My husband bought me the Freeza. It was a pleasant surprise seeing these considering that I never thought that I'd find DBZ Figures in a popular American chain store.

I bought it when it was new. I forget what I paid for it because it was like 10 years ago and it was bought during a random trip to the mall with friends.

Most of mine are DBZ ones, but I was just curious because this thread seems to be mostly non-DBZ anime figures. I love my Hannibal Lecter one. He's also pretty rare, but I don't have his box.
I wish they'd make a Heisenberg one with better quality. The one I have is just a basic run of the mill figure.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone here have any non-anime figures?
I have a Heisenberg figure from Breaking Bad, a Severus Snape figure (Harry Potter), and an 18 inch Hannibal Lecter figure that talks.

serenitydarko: Sean Schemmel was a member there back in 2010 (legitimately it was him and he went by the name SolarMax20). The elitist member PenguinTruth was a jerk to him regarding how bad of a voice actor he was, so he left after only posting like 10 times. I've chatted with Schemmel a few times via his Facebook, and offered him other forums like DBZF, but he's never taken the offer. He never really gave a reason, I just don't think he has time. burdocksan: If he doesn't know about you winning it for him, keep it for yourself.

Yes, I was a regular member on Kanzenshuu up until about a year and a half ago. I got into a pretty big disagreement with VegetoEX and mods regarding gender double standards in the posted fanart, so I left. (Apparently topless women isn't nudity, but anything that shows a guy's stuff is). Being a chick, I was pissed off and offended by that.
Now, I mostly spend time on DBZF. I haven't posted on Kanzenshuu in a long time.
That sucks about your Gotenks. These vinyl figures are tough. I wish they came assembled.

M5, get him! I have those too, and love them. But due to space, I don't have them displayed with the rest of my collection. Piccolo's head and Goku's feet were a bitch to get on due to the vinyl bending when pressure is applied. My husband came up with the outlandish idea to use personal lubricant... It worked.

The only figure from HSCF I really like is the Freeza one. Also one other reason why I actually enjoy this line is because they have a Super Saiyan 2 Goku figure.

Yea. The Arale released for series 4 was a bit out of left field considering how little she appears in the series, but sculpt wise, I think her and Trunks are best ones from series 4.
Her prototype was awesome, but her paint job on the finished piece disappointed me a bit. The sculpting detail in her clothes though kinda makes up for it.

I agree with takezo. The series 2 "battle pose" Goku is a damn masterpiece, and can be displayed perfectly with the series 1 Piccolo. Someone told me that they wouldn't get it because they thought Goku's face looked weird, and I simply replied that they were off their rocker. It's a flawless sculpt as far as I'm concerned.
The thing that I didn't like with the Series 4 SSj Goku was that his paint job is too clean. Not to mention that his pose looks a bit odd and almost unnatural. Also his face doesn't really look like Toriyama's work, and his teeth look big to me.
As a side warning, I know for a fact that this figure has already been bootlegged. I've seen a few on Ebay.
However, out of all the figure lines released of DBZ from all companies, I really think that Banpresto SCultures is over-all, the most satisfying one. You get some figures every once in a while that are disappointing from SCultures, but generally their figures are top quality when it comes to sculpt and paint detail. The convenience is that they're also not usually that expensive either.

I love big figures, but these are a bit big for my taste. The sculpting quality is a bit stylized too, which is off-putting.

Well, SCultures is a non-scaled series.... Most the SC1 are big 7.5-8" scaled, others like SC2 World Tourni Goku, SC4 Trunks &Yamcha are about 6.5"-7" scale(1/10). Which is about as some Hqdx stuff, LoS DX, some of the Kuji prizes. And small characters are made huge in comparison, with Kid Goku, Krillin, Chichi. So it does make snese they made the Gyumao like that. I'd like for them to make the Bear Thief, Major Metallitron, Buyon, Bora since they would scale with Gashapons very well. Just to example the diverse scaling - SC2 Launch with SC4 Launch Yes, they certainly seem more concerned with detail than they do with scale. Of which works out in the end.

The pic I posted was also an old one from last year. The scale was my only beef with him from Scultures is that the rest of the characters in Scultures don't scale with him. But the figure by itself is an amazing piece.
I figure in order to scale with everyone else from Scultures, they'd probably had to have made him a 1/7 scale or larger, which would drive his price up.

For SCultures, even though Ox King isn't one of my favorite characters in the series, the figure of him that came out in series 2 is killer. One of the best of the ones that I do have. His sculpt and paint detail is incredible.
