Figures all day every day. here's a pic worth a thousand words. Gaps? Unsightly joints that are inevitable due to design? They are there. They are acknowledged. They are ultimately ignored. Pros outweigh the cons with some figures.

but it won't change the fact that Trunks and SS Vegeta are still the original releases with paint schemes that match the SDCC exclusives. minor technicality but valid.

not necessarily. The consistent reissues of the SS Goku haven't affected SDCC SS Goku. The original SS Vegeta and Trunks can be viewed in the same light as SDCC exclusives. They are still web exclusives with particular schemes that some people may prefer over the premium color editions. The values may dip a bit but they certainly won't go back to retail prices.

I wouldn't sell until it's 100% confirmed that a Premium Color version is coming out. right now it's just an assumption.

I think it's possible with the new Premium Color releases.

really hope this is a shot of the production figure. It looks so much better with the orange gi. Now they just need to update the SSGSS Vegeta with the same exact paint application used on the hair.
would like to say something fairly off topic that's been on my mind. Am I crazy for wanting to see Premium Color editions of SS Goku, SS Gohan, and Piccolo (disregarding the fact they've all been reissued and will likely continue to be reissued)? I don't mind the manga colors one bit but I also wouldn't mind having updated versions (added bonus, they could paint the skin on Goku and Gohan to match the recent figures). I mainly say this since Vegeta and Trunks seem to have metallic hair...I was quick to hate both of them because of the massive inconsistency they create but if they were to go back and update the regular releases it would solve the inconsistency and give them a chance to improve figures that may be released again anyway (new colored plastic, a few paint apps, updated packaging...doesn't seem like that's too much to ask).

Why on the first night would they let people buy 12 at once? That just seems like its encouraging scalping... end of the day Bluefin needs to recover/gain income. They have the scumbags who are ready and willing to buy cases with the sole intent of reselling ( my main issue - it seems a majority of collectors are now missing out thanks to re-sellers) so they made the cases available which caused a large amount to sell almost immediately, and the limited quantity allowed scalpers (AND retailers - BBTS didn't surprise me since they usually have mark ups but MHToyShop was very surprising and disappointing) to take advantage from day one. Unfortunately it seems to be a problem Bluefin has no interest in fixing and one that may only get worse for future exclusives. really bad situation all around.

I was right in the middle of building up my Jakks DBZ collection in 2010 when I found out about the line. Once I saw what was available I had to have them. Fortunately I was able to find a few of the figures (Tournament Yusuke and the deluxe Yusuke, Kuwabara, and Suzaku) through rightstuf.com for very low prices (worth noting, I just checked out of curiosity and now they only have a few of the IF Labs figures). After that I managed to find Hiei and Kurama through Craigslist. I took the risk of sending a Western Union payment (just $20) to the seller and had to hope he would ship them and again I lucked out and got them within a week. never found the deluxe Jagan Hiei though. still, I was happy to find any of them since they were so hard to find. As for why they were canceled...according to that blog I posted they were hard to find from the initial release. I'm not sure if Jakks was to blame for it but obviously the line turned out to be a loss.

ShadowTheOtaku I can help with this. This is from the Jakks 5-6 inch YYH line. It was unfortunately a very limited line that was canceled early (you can see prototypes from canceled waves at this link). The line only received one basic and one deluxe wave and it seems they are incredibly hard to find now. Here's a pic of a few of the figures next to a Figuarts Goku. Goku's height is 5'7" and Yusuke's height is 5'8" so as far as I'm concerned these are in scale...however...I'm not sure if I would recommend them. As you can see they aren't really impressive. Some of them are hard to stand and they all have limited articulation (aside from the Dark Tournament Yusuke at the end). I only have them so I can say I have some sort of YYH collection and I'm desperately hoping Bandai produces new Figuarts versions of these characters one day (as impossible as that seems), but if you're like me and just have to have some sort of YYH figures these are at least acceptable for a display.

Hey everyone I'm new to customs, never done a custom in my life. However it's something I'd love to try. For my first project I'd really like to customize an SSJ Vegeta figuart into Majin Vegeta. I saw another forum users attempt at it and it was awesome. They sculpted in his iconic smile as well on one of the SSJ Vegeta heads. And that's my reason for asking this. Given that the head pieces are quite small and fiddly, what would be the best method of altering a figuarts face sculpt? Mainly carving into it. I've never worked on a small scale like this, always sculpted larger pieces using clay or sculpey. Is it just a case of using an X-acto knife to slowly carve the detail in, or using metal wax tools etc? Thanks people. you might pick up a set of these carving tools. They should be useful for carving facial details. www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-11pc-Clay-Sculpting-Set-Wax-Carving-Pottery-Tools-Shapers-Polymer-Modeling-/381033763943?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item58b761d467........ Don't want to say this is absolutely must see, I'm not sure if this material is as good as it seems, but it's definitely worth checking out...my excitement is through the roof after seeing this. A new material that starts off with a clay like consistency and ends as rubber, and any customizer knows how invaluable this can be. My mind is already racing with possibilities...skirt pieces, saiyan tails, long malleable robes (something like Kami's outfit). This could open up the door to hundreds of projects. wish I could buy some now. sugru.com/officially losing my mind. Here is a custom Legend of Zelda Ganon figure (certainly must see, it's an absolute masterpiece) that features the Sugru material on the hair and tail. It can be seen near the end of the video and...I'm blown away. speechless. This is some game changing material.

painted lines would be fine. Align the first line with the articulation break in the middle and then add a second one in front of it. problem solved, and they won't need to make new boot tips (but I wish they would).

holy s$#%...
The new SS Vegeta is, IMO, the superior version just based on the lighter skin that isn't doused in pink shading. The boot tips really bug me since they have no detail but I'm hoping they fix it before the release.
Trunks...tough to say if it's better. I think it is since I'm nuts about consistency and have grown less fond of the shaded hair styles, the single yellow seems like it will fit in with everything else better. guess I don't care too much about it.
SS Goku...YES YES YES. Remarkable. I'm not ecstatic about the re-use of the old SS hair part (was hoping for a recolor of the new SSGSS hair part) but I'm beyond pleased with the new face (faces?) and updated skin tone. And that sculpt...AUGH. I can't stop looking at it.

Well actually I just posted it as a joke... Because it won't be an exclusive since it is was already an exclusive and it being rereleased makes it not exclusive at all... would just like to say that isn't really how it would work...figures tend to be produced in one production run. When the SDCC is revealed it won't be a matter of them releasing the Mexico exclusive again (giving the figure another production run), but getting the portion of the run with the SDCC packages out to San Diego. chances are this is just the SDCC exclusive being extended to another region, which as I've said before, can be nothing but a good thing. and, as other people have said, the Galeria exclusive will still be exclusive just because of the box. Major difference? No, but there are certainly collectors out there that will have to have the box, so the Galeria version is still technically an exclusive.
