Isn't that defeating the purpose? They call these SDCC exclusives for a reason I'd like to think. I don't see why they should be pandering to internet shoppers if they sell out. Complaining about scalpers being allowed to buy 20 figures at a time? Sure, I'm with you. Arguing such an iconic figure shouldn't have been an exclusive to begin with? I completely understand. But a lot of people here seem to have that sense of consumer elitism that I will never understand. I know at the end of the day profit and moving product is the highest priority for Bluefin. that said, I don't understand why they don't attempt to gain a little more money when the opportunity is clearly there. Disregard other online shops. Why not do what they did with SDCC Vegeta, get a small inventory of future exclusives, and sell it themselves with a slight price increase? It's an unfortunate fact that some people will give in to the SDCC mark ups...I'm absolutely certain most wouldn't mind paying a little above retail through Bluefin than giving four times the original amount to people that buy cases of the exclusives. The way things are now it seems scalpers have (and will) benefit more than collectors and that's disappointing. but it's true that these ARE event exclusives and it should technically be much harder for non-attendees to get them. Idk. It's frustrating to know there were options in the past and now there's no other option aside from submitting to scalpers.

I read this when the Goku was first announced... I know the Distributor (Distribuidora AniMexico) who imports these figures in Mexico has had a very good relationship with Bandai Japan for years now and this isnt the first Bandai Tamashii Nations Expo they've done in Mexico and the people at DAM have been working hard to get an exclusive for years (they've tried to get at the very least Tamashii Nations Japan Exclusive figures to be able to sell in their expo but havent been able to, and this year apparently they got Bandai to make and exclusive for their event in Mexico) I know for a fact that a lot of tamashii products sell very well in Mexico (not only DBZ, they practically sell out their imported stock on most lines like Saint Seiya Myth Cloth and S.H. Figuarts), its only natural that Bandai would give that market a special thanks like this exclusive figureshould add...Bandai didn't go out of their way to make a new exclusive strictly for Mexico. As we've seen the Mexico exclusive was simply the SDCC exclusive being released in a new region with a new package. I remember back in the day when you could get the SDCC Exclusives for basically what they cost at the conventions... good times... As far as I know it's just a matter of Bluefin getting more cases out to online retailers and not allowing scalpers to snatch up cases at SDCC. I'm assuming it happened in 2011 and 2012 because the demand wasn't at the level it's at now and Bluefin had to get the figures out. Obviously things have changed and they can sell most of the stock directly at SDCC and it seems they're just concerned with getting them out as soon as possible. All anyone can do is hope that next year will be different (as unlikely as that seems).

really starting to hate the stamped on eyes. It can't be that difficult for them to add a little eye detail in the sculpt.

I'm not digging the almost neon orange they used (but for all I know they may have limited options with the plastic). that said, this looks perfect. I didn't think I'd ever be excited for this but I'm getting there.

I don't mind talking about effects for other lines at all, ever. I got the SHF Luke the other day and was thinking this same thing. I know two ways I could do it at that size, but it would be very difficult with a high chance of unit failure. Those would be REALLY small pieces to work with without machine assistance. I'm considering taking a crack at it with larger saber style items via MG or PG Gundam beamsabers. I realize it may be difficult to create a saber from scratch but there may be a solution...suppose you take a saber from a retail Black Series Luke (to avoid buying another SHF Luke), paint the beam white, and then add clear green on top of it. That way you wouldn't have to worry about recreating the beam or the hilt.

A bit off topic but this has been on my mind since you showed off the newer effects with white cores...would it be possible for you to make light sabers with the new method? I've always hated how Star Wars figures use basic dyed translucent plastic on the sabers when every bit of media shows sabers with a prominent white core. I'm interested to see what a saber would look like using the same method used to make the wave effects.

got this on Friday. had a day off Saturday and took some pics. here goes. total impulse purchase. Paid way more than I wanted or planned to. I had a nice plan in place before SDCC happened but thanks to scalpers buying up cases with the sole intent of re-selling at a mark up the high demand of this year's release that plan had to change. Am I satisfied? Very...the normal Goku figure was already one of my favorites, and although I thought the smaller belt would hurt the figure since the ball/socket in the torso is easily exposed it isn't as big an issue as I thought it would be. Still...probably the worst purchase decision I've made in a while. anyway. no Raditz to go with these but I still wanted to take this pic. Anyone remember this pic I posted on the old forum? figured it was time for a follow up. I also received this a few weeks ago...I didn't have any time or interest in taking pics for it but I had this in mind and figured it wouldn't hurt to get it out of the way. (no idea where the flame effects came from. They were tossed into a random eBay lot I received in 2013. I'd gladly say where they came from but I haven't seen the effects anywhere) worth mentioning since I brought it up here, my dad is finally home from the rehab center he was in. He was definitely affected by the last event but he's home and he says he's feeling fine. thanks to everyone that sent positive vibes his way.

Got Architect. Describes me pretty well gotta say. The Myers-Briggs is a very accurate assessment, so I'm not surprised. I remember doing a test very similar to this in one of my psychology classes and I got the same result. so there's a reason I agree with damn near everything you say here and on Sideshow...heh heh. LOL...hadn't even noticed and I wouldn't have said anything but right now we both have crossed arms Vegeta avatars. how odd.

INTJ PERSONALITY (“THE ARCHITECT"). Haven't dug into all the info but the small amount I did read is spot on. some sections explain quite a bit about me.

disregarding the SDCC version...I'd like to see a Saiyan/Frieza Saga Goku that utilizes the updated parts seen on the Awakening Goku. New legs (maybe with knee joints similar to those used on Trunks and Krillin that so many want to see), a new upper torso with ab articulation, the exact same orange color used on the Awakening Goku, a thinner belt similar to the one used on Krillin, and the same head used on the 2014 Goku but with new faces (still can't shake my desire for more normal Goku faces. mock up I made based on the old mold.

shall reserve judgement since this is the prototype but I can't shake the feeling that this is what the final release will look like.

Such an absolute shame that it seems more re-sellers than collectors were able to get their hands on the exclusive this year and that there's nothing that can be done to avoid all the price gouging.
