I'm not too familiar with what figures have energy effects. Is that one new? Because that's one determining factor.
I mean, I should want an adult Gohan figure, he's my man after all (umm...based on my avatar, ha ha ha)

I'm one of those people that loved the idea of a mystic gohan figure ..2 years ago. When i saw that new effect piece, all i could think was "wow... how lame". 3 faces. 1 piss poor generic effect. but WAIT! we're lucky enough to get a tamashii stand. $39.99?  Tamashii has become so inconsistent. They've really been shafting their "biggest seller" with some skimpy releases. Especially compared to the quality of many of their other products. I'm glad for the inclusion of the blast, but in a series where they are such an integral element, why make them so uninspired? I know they have the ability to make amazing effects and DBZ deserves them. The smirking face is cool but then the hair looks kinda off like it has too many spikes. At least the ROF figures look great, but they're not the ones nostalgic and cemented into so many's memories... The worst part? im gonna have to buy them all :/ |

This gotta be the weakest and laziest entry to the line so far. The effect piece literally look like the same mold of one of those Unifive chibi's effect pieces. I'm still way more excited for this then the ROF releases though.

I agreed with nearly every complaint made about this one and certainly made it clear (multiple times) how much I wanted a blue gi Gohan. It's mind boggling that they stuck with the orange gi and gave the SSGodSS Goku a red gi (an outfit that clearly needed orange parts) when this could have benefited greatly from a red gi (even though that's only accurate to the anime)...but I'm finding it hard to hate it.

I'm going to buy it mostly for the smirk face and the blast. it might not be the best figure in the line so far, but at least we're getting something.

I guess, that's all I can think of. Though there's an indefinite number of generic yellow beams it can represent. What weirds me out about it is the white highlights. They look nothing like Scouter Vegeta's, it almost looks like this is made of vinyl or something weird... I know it's not but you know. 3 heads and not one of them is Super Saiyan. I'm a little disappointed. I don't think it's physically three heads. I'd bet that it attaches at the front with some hair, like Vegeta. Still, it is a bit annoying that they didn't include that.  I think the seam is here. Looks like they didn't really fix that forehead issue either. What a bother. |

My biggest concern with the figure is that the hole between the neck and the body seems that it could be significant. The blast is kind of weird, but at least he comes with an additional accessory as opposed to nothing.
Other than that, Ultimate Gohan was the most badass he got in the Buu Saga, so I'm pretty pumped! I would take this over the blue gi any day.

after these newest pictures, I can say I'm not interested. Just not what I wanted. I'd have loved it it was his green outfit over this but this is just one just seems to to lazy. =/

What were some of you guys expecting with this release? He is arguably gohans most popular appearence its only natural that tamashii would make this instead of him in his other outfits. so im pretty satisfied! He comes with all the face expressions and hands he needs to come with, and an effect.
and also the body is nothing really to complain about especially since gohan looked excatly like goku in this form.....

As others have stated here on this fig, he will fill some of the demand for an adult Gohan while being made with little resources from Tamashii's part. Also, this fig will probably be a good gauge of how the heads that they made will go with the public. Im not the biggest fan of the heads myself, but at $39.99 Im ok with the package he comes looks to be coming with. I would suspect that if this fig is received well, that we would probably see the blue adult gohan with SS heads down the road for a little bit more money. Which if that is the case, I would probably use a SS head on a blue gohan anyway and keep the ultimate gohan non SS.
