Really digging Goku and Kid Gohan. Cell games Gohan's hair still seems a little tall, but it's probably because you haven't added all the hair on the side. Still, looks great!

I think it's alright. I forgot I was going to use the DG figure as reference for the hair. I need to put that on my customizing table so I remember to use it for reference. I forgot to battle damage the pant leg. Oops!

Two hours of sanding tonight so far and Goku's body appears to be ready to paint. I'm going to resculpt his face still. SS2 Gohan's hair is looking pretty nice in my opinion but it sure takes awhile doing the hair so well like this. Gohan might be ready for paint.
I probably should have dusted Gohan off before taking pics...

These r looking really nice bran. The only issue I have is that I feel like ss2 gohans hair is either 1 to tall or 2 not wide enough. It might be the angel of that pic but it just looks to vertical to me. Other than that I really like that goku I've always thought of trying to repurpose those legs to where they weren't battle damaged.

Fixing those legs wasn't too bad, but did require more work than I expected. I've been having a lot of fun with Gohan tonight. This is the type of sculpting I enjoy. I hate sculpting clothing, but this type of thing is fun. I think he's on the verge of troll doll status, but I've been having a lot of fun with him tonight. I guess I'll have to do a lot of sanding. I feel like his hair is too long overall, even though my favorite anime scenes involve him having really long hair. I'm finding the DG figure is not very good reference for accuracy, but just looks cool. Using pictures is better for me. The hair strands are overall too tall and too wide. I'll have to see if I can fix that without going so far overboard that the figure will no longer blend with Irwin and Jakks figures (that have much too wide of strands typically).

Adding the hair to the sides like that made a big diff IMO. It looks spot on to the ref pic u have to the left of him where he's holding the bag. I like the big hair look for him but like u said it will stand out amongst ur other 5in figures. I'd say try sanding down the individual tips but I think at this point it might be more work than it's worth if it where me I'd leave him be I like him a lot.

Well, I hadn't even done the sides until the last couple of nights. I just did the right side of his head tonight. I still haven't done any of the back at all. My manicure tool I bought myself for Christmas has a lot of tiny pointy tips, so I can sand the hair much smaller. Some of the hair tips are already sharp enough that they pierce my skin, so I decided to wait on at least that part for awhile lol.

Damn. I was kind of weirded out when you posted your first WIP of that SS2 Gohan, but it looks fantastic with all that sculpt work done. Can't wait to see this guy get painted.

SS2Gohan is freakin badass. His hair should be a little long. It just exemplifies the moment in the series as a 'big' one. Now when people look at your collection, that long, spiky, SS hair that is just so noticeable in the front row of your Cell Saga section will be seen first and spark a conversation to what was perhaps the greatest moment in television history. As of now, if you add the ripped pants, he might be my favorite custom of yours. Seriously. I can see it painted right now, and he is going to rock. Mine is pretty good too, but this? Ugh I want it. I don't mind the hair size at all. Long and wide is a good thing lolol What does bother me is that some of the members that commented (before you had done all the sculpting), thought you were done and missing some hair. Bran, maybe you need to mention what else needs to be done on each of your WIP posts or you guys need to have better faith in Bran. Do you really think he'd sculpt hair that had super tall strands, but no side strands, and that looked essentially nothing like it was supposed to? Wasn't it obvious he hadn't gotten around to it yet?

Lol I was kind of bothered that many of you guys thought I was done or something. This is a work in progress topic after all, nothing is done . I like him with super long hair, but it may be because my very first custom ever was an SS2 Gohan made from the sbc figure. I tried to copy original DBT member Rosy's custom and failed in I guess 2001. The hair looked like icicles and was way too long and embarrassing. Maybe that's why I am sculpting it too long again. Based on the screenshots, I have it too long. For some reason when I look at it I think it is fine, but when I compare to pics I think it is long. If this was hair going on a Goku, I'd know it was too long, but with Gohan I don't. Kind of indecisive about this. The one thing I don't lie currently is how thick that strand on the front of his head over his left eye is. That one takes up a bit too much space in my opinion.

I'm not sure y u were upset with anyone saying that bran after all u did post this along with pics of his hair without the extra width so I assumed u were going to paint him with it looking like that plus the whole point of showing ur wip pics is to get advice is it not. Or maybe I'm confused? I meant to say also that I know know u we're talking about ur other gohan being ready for paint but the way it read could have applied to ss2 gohan. Either way I'm sure no one meant any harm by what they said. Just trying to help

I'm sorry if my comment seemed offensive :/ I certainly did not mean it in any manner. I said that I figured you still had plenty of side hair to do. Again, sorry, if it came across wrong. I think Gohan looks fantastic now!

tough to make a suggestion here. I really think you need to sand each strand until they're all thin...but I'm well aware that will increase the chances of chipping. I can just see it happening, you sand it until it's the perfect width, set it down on the table, your hand slips and the figure falls and three of the strands crack. Hmm...I'm not sure. The strands just seem too thick.

I wasn't upset, I thought it was funny, particularly wave's reply. I was like "these guys are getting too used to 1andonly's wip topic when everything is basically done" or something, because it's pretty obvious I'm still working on the figures. You guys are silly

Checking for high spots with some paint and sanding them off. I think I'm catching a cold so I'm too tired to do much tonight.
