For those who grew up playing with Super Battle Collection figures (or those re-released into the Irwin lines etc), share your experiences here! I remember as a kid I would go to this shop which contained a lot of SBC figures (They were probably bootlegs but I still loved them and never knew at the time). I think my last purchase from them was a SBC Kid Buu before they went out of business. I visited the shop often enough that the owner knew who I was . As for a list of figures I remember owning, I'm a little hazy but I'll list down what I remember owning. Normal Goku Normal Goku - Blue Gi SSJ Goku Normal Gohan SSJ Gohan Piccolo Future Trunks w/sword Kid Trunks GT Trunks Frieza Saga Vegeta Cell Saga SSJ Vegeta Buu Saga SSJ Vegeta Majin Buu - Fat Majin Buu - Kid Cell Frieza Great Saiyaman Gotenks Broly

OMG I used to play with my figures so much. I also had a bunch of bootlegs not knowing they were. Before I started collecting I would make up my own stories and make my own episodes and capture them on video. My figures got so beat up though from all the paint marks they would get from me smacking them against each other. I had to re buy almost all of them when I started collecting because the condition those figures were in were horrible lol. Miss those days though. I still have those videos of me playing with my toys as a kid too

My first ever dragonball figures were SBC SS Goku and SS Vegeta. Took me 2 weeks to save up for them. Things were more expensive in Canada. I must have been 13 years at the time. I still have them, they sit in the top shelve of my loose figure collection. I dont think I would ever let them go. Goku's arms look like they are bruised from mass amounts of blocking and Vegeta's got some knocks to.

I use to own the ss4 versions of goku, vegeta, and gogeta. Also had the goku perfect version. That one was my favorite. Being able to change the heads and arms. Good memories.

Like Gonstead, there used to be a little shop called "Florida Oriental Trading Company" that my brothers and I were obsessed with back in 2000-2003 and they had all the SBC figures, DBZ cards, early Irwin figures, the DVDs, and even some of the 12 inch AB figures. I always remember the smell of that place and how Super Baby Vegeta was 34.99 lol The owners were Japanese. They lived in the back of the store and eventually became our friends. I'll never forget calling to see what they had and the lady answering the phone, "Hello! F.O.T!" and "We have Future Trunk!" with her accent. Then I remember my brothers walking up to go in one time as the place was on a busy street corner, and it had closed down. I think I teared up. It was sad. The place sat in abandonment for almost 6 years until it became a Guitar shop as it still is today. I work literally four blocks from it.

As a kid, DBZ was strictly banned from my household, so I couldn't get my parents to take me to a store and buy DBZ figures in front of them. I had to have these little swap meets with kids at school, where we would all bring whatever figures we wanted to sell/trade and meet up in the bathroom or on the playground and make deals haha. A lot of the kids I traded with were hispanic and had access to the DBZ products being released in Mexico, which were mainly Buu Saga and GT items because Mexico was way ahead of the US with their broadcast of DBZ. So all of my childhood SBC figures were straight from Mexico. I didn't have too many SBC's, but I remember one time a kid brought me Baby Vegeta, Goku, SS Kid Goku, and some others after a trip to visit his family in Mexico. I remember thinking that the GT SBC's were fake because no one in the US even knew about GT yet, so I ended up painting blood on a lot of them and making them look "battle damaged" haha.

My first experience with SBC and DBZ was at my Grandma's house. My cousins had some of the Irwin re-released figures, and we played with them a lot. I then got some of my own at Toys R Us. I got SS Goku, SS3 Goku, Broly, Frieza, Cell, Great Saiyaman, Kid Trunks, and Super Buu. I didn't really know anything about the characters, but I remember thinking Broly was a good guy, and Great Saiyaman and Trunks were bad for some reason, lol.

I envy you guys, at that time(as a kid, then again you're all way older than me) I didn't know what dbz was. When I did the 10th anniversary figures were out but I was too old for them. I did buy a super buu vs mystic gohan though. I recall thinking Yamcha was goku's brother since they had weird hair, gotta love being a kid.

I only seem to be able to remember the bad times. There was the time Trunks decided to cleave kid Gohan in two with his sword, accidentally knocking him down from the mantle shattering him in two. There was also the time when Piccolo took a good swift kick from Goku to the jaw, shattering his left ear and cape. Hahaha!
Other than that the rest of my SBC figures held up really well. In fact I still have my original SS Goku in my collection, my first ever DBZ figure. He is in mint condish! Go figure.

I had some Irwin figures before SBC, but they were still some of the earliest figures I got. I believe the first few SBC I got were loose and from a local comic shop. My mom gave me and my brother some loose SBC and Irwin figures in our stockings. My brother eventually lost interest in Z and I ended up getting his figures too.
I went to that comic shop again once, and I had a bunch of TMNT and Godzilla figures, and I think I traded 5 or 6 of them plus like $4 for a SBC Krillin. I hope that shop is closed now, they were jerks.

I was more into TMNT back then so I never had any Dragon Ball toys as a kid. Thankfully I am starting to fix that now
