Hey guys.. Thanks for reminding me I have to sell my collection.. This is a sign of things to come.. I will not be buying the ss awakening warrior goku either.. So s.h figurarts just lost a collector/customer.. My collection is up for sale. Hit me up.. Only selling my figurarts not my Irwin/jakks. I maybe might join you. I'm honestly getting sick of the whole exclusive crap. Every figure is exclusive, exclusive, exclusive, exclusive, and exclusive, its just stupid. Please do. Wish these forums would return more towards fandom talk instead of whining about how people aren't getting their way. I signed up to share appreciation for the series and it's merchandise lines but it gets worse and worse with each thread.

Where did you get that from what you read? As that's the assumption that your basically saying.
But as consumers we have the right to complain, we're not sheeps, don't know about you though. But arguing, complaining, whining, comes in fandom talks of anything, sports, movies, games, anything. If there wasn't such arguing or whining that would mean that the thing is not interesting and would just die out. Just how you somehow got that I'd leave the forum after if I sell my figures is maybe how your not getting how fandom is? Maybe this is not the right place for you? Or even forums? Besides your whining too about how its not just fandom talk.
But anyways... ok, hey does anyone have a issue with the decal on the back of Goku? I know if not careful it can fade away and such by our natural oils in our hands, but like 2 of my friends have had the corners of the decal chip off of theirs? Does anyone else got similar issues or came with a scratch at first out of the box.

Consumers have the right to complain about what exactly? That an exclusive figure actually lives up to that title and demands a high price among collectors?

Consumers have the right to complain about anything. I wasn't just talking about these SH Figuarts DBZ figures, I meant on anything. Like recently on what is going on with that stupid CEO of that medicine pill, with his recent raise on the price per pill, the public complained and thus hes going to drop the price back down or dumped his stupid idea of increasing the price on it from $13.50 a pill to $750.00 a pill. But for these figures, people complained about not getting Trunks and Vegeta, and so we're getting a new figure of them. Or as many want to believe in their heads, its a reissue/re-release, yet the figures are not the same from one another, but anyways consumers have the right to complain.

You're right consumers have the right to complain about anything, though to that same notion, not all complaints have to be, nor should they be taken seriously.

You're right consumers have the right to complain about anything, though to that same notion, not all complaints have to be, nor should they be taken seriously. Actually they should be taken seriously, as without us they have nothing. Their line will just be a waste of funds on the manufactures, by poor choice of paint, poor design, poor engineering and so on. Like if theyre trying to sell us a item, it has to be good. Like do you think a figure with a lot of issues and all would sell great or keep the line going? No. That's what happened with those Megaman figures from Jazwares Inc. They were HORRIBLE! And such, no one purchased them at all and thus the line died. As to the D-Arts line ones, they were a success of course given how much detail, articulation and such in them. We are the consumers, if you expect us to purchase your item, well make it appealing with no flaws. And with that if the price of that item is high to begin with, then you expect it to be top notch, no paint errors and no loose joints and all. If so such things happens their should be a good service for fixing these issues. Good Smile Company takes their figma line seriously as their figures are very well designed, sculpted, and paint applications. And is such great errors are found, they offer a replacement service. The same with Real Action Heroes. But if a company wants to their product line to continue, then they should take complaints and such seriously as theyre trying to sell us their product. Feedback is always good to companies as those are the key points of improving their product. But of course some don't listen and just keep on producing their products with errors as such the sheep consumers just purchase and purchase and purchase. But over all, we as consumers have the right to complain.
But anyways, back to Goku, isn't there a way to protect the decal on the front and back of the figure? I thought of spraying a matte finish over it. As I would REALLY hate it if it scratches, chips off, or fades due to handling of over time by our natural oils in our hands.

Consumers have the right to complain about anything you want to the appropriate distributor. The fact you are wailing on a forum isn't that. It's the equivalent to going to the library and yelling out about how you don't like the new Stephen King novel. So, just sell your books and let us continue our quiet little book club, please. The only right as a consumer you have is the choice to making a purchase or not. They are doing anything illegal or morally grey, so no, you have no right to anything. The fact that the current age of elitist consumerism and Youtube white knights lead the easily convinced into believing anything otherwise boggles my mind.
To add something of relevance. Hopefully how this release both sold and was handled will pave the way for future releases. In both how they were unable to meet supplier requests and how the booth was ran. It was an easy mistake considering for a while they had trouble getting rid of their Vegetas. Also, the fact that it was more than just a repaint is much appreciated. Additional little changes to the belt and decals hopefully will lead to things like battle damage being included, etc.
Also, if the line continues to grow, there is also a chance so will the amount of exclusives. Like how certain retail stores get a set stock, maybe figuarts will see that love eventually.

Actually, wailing on, ranting, complain on a forum is ok as some companies look into them for feedback on their products. Like in this case, they'd look into DBZ forums and not like a Marvel comics forum to get feedback. But again some companies will do it, as we can tell perhaps Bandai hasn't as we are still getting the Goku body with the stupid knee gap problem. But your right about the consumer has the right to just purchase it or not. Don't like it, move on basically. But that doesn't quite happen, as companies actually improve their products, like Good Smile Company improved on their joint engineering of their figmas. Jazwares Incs Megaman line sucked, fans/consumers complained, Jazwares didn't improve, consumers stopped purchasing, thus the line died. But it all depends on the company. But wailing on a forum is quite ok actually. As they say, staying quiet could actually mean that someone is wrong.

But back to the topic, I thought of spraying a matte finish seal over the decals of Goku to give it protection from scratches and such. Although a scratch can still happen yeah I know, but a seal will give it a bit more protection of easy scratches and scuffs and fading. Any ideas if its a good or bad idea? Anyone has attempted?

This is an SDCC exclusive.
It's like people don't understand what that entails...
I like this exclusive.
I also think the web exclusivity is kind of a big reason why this line is so successful. It creates a sense of value with each release. It makes people want to get it right away! If you don't, the price will go up and it will be gone!

What's okay about it? Your example had nothing to do with a forum, you're just being whiny. Your passive aggressive "I'll bawl in public and hope someone agrees with me" method is asinine. E-mail the company next time. As far as sealing your figures? You can do it and it'll work perfectly, it'll prevent paint transfer as well, but it will change the finish of the figure for better or worse.

Guys, try to behave like the friends you should be. I'm getting complaints about the discussion happening in this thread. People are calling it annoying.
Bluefin has typically had their SDCC exclusives available on their site. If they don't this time, that sucks, and that's really the sad end of discussion about it really.
Complaints regarding changes you want made are better sent directly to Bluefin (their twitter or facebook), but yes, supposedly they and Bandai Japan look at DBF. I don't know if they look at every topic... I doubt it. Overall complaining here is alright, but it can fall on deaf ears and it's better communicated to someone directly who can hear you out and pass it along.
I wouldn't ever recommend spraying anything on a figure. You could brush on some Model Masters Flat Clear Acryl, but it might remove some of the decal or make the black bleed into the white. It'd be a risk. And of course, then the figure would be considered customized.

Just want to reiterate that spraying a figure is perfectly fine as long as you do it right (thin coats/disassemble as much as you can). The matte finish often gets rid of the cheap plastic look if a figure has an overall fake shine to it. But as Branjita said, it'll have a different look and naturally be considered customized, which has a impact to your figure's value if you plan on selling ever. In that case, don't touch it with anything.

Ah dang it! That is true, it'll be considered a custom, which I don't want. Well so much for that....
