Yep, you have to draw the line somewhere, and like I've said many times, this is not a figure I want badly enough to spend that much. $120-$130? Okay maybe. But $160-$170? Hell no. Then you should of bought it on the opening day SDCC when the prices were at their lowest. Got mine for $110. My friend got his for $100, my other friend got his for $114.
Yeah you're right, I should have been able to predict the future. I should have known that the figure would randomly skyrocket, unlike every other SDCC ever made...

I remember back in the day when you could get the SDCC Exclusives for basically what they cost at the conventions... good times... I also remember when the figure line nearly died.

Not predict, but its more like expected. Its like all the signs were there that this Goku was going to go high. Its all thanks to the stupid Mexico event. Before the stupid Mexico event, it got hype about it being the version of Goku that everyone wanted and expected, it got hype and that its going to be a Mexico exclusive of the whole only 500 crap which many couldn't get. Then it lastly got hype again by announcement of it being the SDCC exclusive. So those that couldn't get the Mexico one was for sure going to go after the SDCC one, with that surely it was going to be desired and sell out. But its like the signs were there.

Its funny how I remember that I kept on saying before of what if it sells out, that those that couldn't get the Mexico one was going to go after the SDCC one, and then I forget who here kept on saying not to worry that there is plenty to go around, and that Bluefin will have it available, don't worry, don't worry. And now what! I have to say that I told you so.

DBZ is very popular in Mexico. Yea Im from mexico and look where I am buying $50 dollar figures. And by tye way japan is a bad place to make an exclusive because ironically dbz is not as popular in japan as it is in other countries. Right?

I read this when the Goku was first announced... I know the Distributor (Distribuidora AniMexico) who imports these figures in Mexico has had a very good relationship with Bandai Japan for years now and this isnt the first Bandai Tamashii Nations Expo they've done in Mexico and the people at DAM have been working hard to get an exclusive for years (they've tried to get at the very least Tamashii Nations Japan Exclusive figures to be able to sell in their expo but havent been able to, and this year apparently they got Bandai to make and exclusive for their event in Mexico) I know for a fact that a lot of tamashii products sell very well in Mexico (not only DBZ, they practically sell out their imported stock on most lines like Saint Seiya Myth Cloth and S.H. Figuarts), its only natural that Bandai would give that market a special thanks like this exclusive figureshould add...Bandai didn't go out of their way to make a new exclusive strictly for Mexico. As we've seen the Mexico exclusive was simply the SDCC exclusive being released in a new region with a new package. I remember back in the day when you could get the SDCC Exclusives for basically what they cost at the conventions... good times... As far as I know it's just a matter of Bluefin getting more cases out to online retailers and not allowing scalpers to snatch up cases at SDCC. I'm assuming it happened in 2011 and 2012 because the demand wasn't at the level it's at now and Bluefin had to get the figures out. Obviously things have changed and they can sell most of the stock directly at SDCC and it seems they're just concerned with getting them out as soon as possible. All anyone can do is hope that next year will be different (as unlikely as that seems).

Because as a distributor, it's infinitely easier to give 1,000 of a product to 10 business partners than it is to give 1,000 products to 1,000 customers. Bluefin wants it's retailers to make money and encourage them to purchase more in the future and well, SDCC exclusives are there to encourage attendance and hype for their product lines. The only reason we had options in the past was because of how poorly the series sold, sadly. This is the reality of a successful line in it's growing pains. If they continue to do good, you'll most likely see the web exclusive title disappear entirely and that is great for collectors. But for convention exclusives? You're competing with die hard fans and those with spending money. Nature of the beast.

I mean if we are being completely honest with ourselves 150-170 is not such a crazy price. You did not have to go to the exclusive and wait for hours upon hours in line. Thats just the time involved guys not the money and even more time it takes to get tickets to this thing. All the costs and expenses to do with getting to this event. Even if you live nearby it would still cost alot. Last but not least is the 45 dollars plus tax. So it costs 115-135 dollars to avoid all these things and just click a button . I for one choose the button.
