not bad at all. I still can't get over the leg swap idea, simple yet genius. it works for both of them so perfectly.

SupremeKai man...perfect. Quick request, could you take the neck/head from a SS3 Goku and put it on the normal body? Matter of fact...can you also pop the manga SS Goku head on to the body? I'd like to see how different the skin tones are.

finally...I was wondering when this was going to pop up. How is the height compared to a Figuarts Goku?

Best images I've seen so far...this is a must see. Figuarts Goku Review(I'm pretty sure this review has been posted so I'll leave it as a separate link)Seeing this is a bit disappointing. I liked the peach color on the SS Goku as it seemed to match his anime interpretation better...BUT...the new skin the normal form has matches perfectly with the Figuarts elbow joint...and I can't say for sure but I have a feeling the SS3 head would look perfect on the normal form body since the SS3 faces have somewhat yellow skin behind the shaded areas. I think I like it. didn't think this was worth a new post. I'm about to say I like the new skin more. I was doing some random browsing this morning and stumbled across a thread on Kanzenshuu where a member posted edited images from the anime that featured characters with their manga colors. I was prepared to get this Goku... and this is what they put out, a manga color Goku. of course if the skin is as inconsistent as SK says it is...well...eh...guess I should wait and see for myself.

I've actually heard of this since the creator was also responsible for YuYu Hakusho (I'm a big fan of YYH). I can't say I was too interested in checking it out but I may some day.

And the final round of detail, my Tournament/Buu Saga and beyond shizzz. This carries more of a 5-5.5 inch scale throughout. I make it work tho. the row feels pretty complete to me for some reason. You can also see some more of the customizing i do on my figures such as the desperately needed and improved Kibito ah...that's just great. I never paid much attention to the Kibito figure but had to inspect it a bit when I was selling my Irwin/jakks stuff and I thought it would look a lot better if it had more white in the eyes...and it definitely does. good work

According to elothk (the chinese who makes awesome custom figures and a member from sideshow forum) the chinese version has a lower quality while the gold sticker version has a better quality. I aways thought that this quality difference doesnt exist and the gold / silver thing was only related to the distribution... but he said he already owned both version of the same figure and the differences were there. He also did not buy his goku from the chinese local store. He got his goku from japan. I like elot, I respect elot, but in this instance I think he may be wrong. I can see them doing separate high quality releases for the web exclusives but even then it doesn't make much sense. Why go out of their way to make superb figures for the domestic market? Can you honestly see Bandai doing that while considering the overall quality of all the figures released so far? I think he wound up with a very well done SS Goku out of chance, nothing more. It has to be coincidental. I can't take pics right now but I bought a gold version SS Goku and the silver version to see for myself if it was better and...well honestly all I remember is the head fit on the neck peg much better on the silver version. No two factory releases will ever be the same, some figures will undoubtedly be good and some will be bad and I believe elot stumbled upon a very good figure. of course...if I saw some hard evidence to the contrary I'd believe it but for now I still think it's purely speculation. The gold releases do have appeal though and can be considered exclusive since they're intended for the Japanese buyers...but again, I doubt they're higher quality figures. Couldn't you just compare a Manga Gohan to a SDCC Gohan? They're about the same It's prolly just a repaint though ain't it. SDCC figures are exempt as they are automatically silver versions since they're US exclusives. Every other figure has a few different versions, a gold version (Japanese market), a silver version (international), and...a few others...green for Europe? I'm not 100% sure so I can't say.

not sure what's going on there but the outfit isn't painted on this version of Piccolo, it's just purple plastic. I just looked at mine, which is still sealed. My shirt and pants purple match perfectly, but there is a tiny chip of paint taken off the leg, and you can see blue behind it. take my word for it, it's all purple plastic. I took out the knee joints and make a little cut tonight to be absolutely certain and it's purple plastic. it looks like it has a bit of matte spray applied to the legs but there's no paint. I can't even see shading for that matter.

Just ordered this light-up Saint Seiya stand off ebay to display my Perfect Cell on. It was like $12. I know it's not really to scale at all, but I think it should look kinda neat as a little chunk of the Cell Games arena. I got the yellow version so I can have him glow with his Super Saiyan aura, of course. very interesting...I'm actually waiting on one of those stands to arrive (it shipped in late March and still hasn't arrived). I thought it would be a great base to use when I take pictures of customs, I'm excited to see it.

@ adrenaline/gohan it'll be done one of these days.
@aussie bane gs thanks for the encouragement
@ iam nope but I did everything I could to save it. I actually started with the Vegeta armor but the Goku joints wouldn't fit in the bootleg torso. I put in new plastic on one side and it seemed to work until I worked on the other side. then everything became a massive mess of drippy bootleg plastic. the goku torso was my only option...I had to combine the Goku spine and the ball peg on the Vegeta waist but it works OK. if I use my last Datong Vegeta to make another one I know I can save the armor but Idk if I'll make two or not.

@aussiedcfan that user is 12 years old so it's a bit understandable. lazy but understandable. My hard drive issues gave me a little time to work on this project...I'm fairly confident the Figuarts SDCC exclusive this year will be a revised Cell Saga SS Vegeta so I've been working on this just in case. the torso has a little paint because I was trying to match the blue on the legs, I definitely intend on sculpting a new torso...that is...if I can care about it enough and find a little free time this month.
