Toei seems to have a solid list of official colors that are now used in all forms of Dragon Ball media (with the exception of blue hair Future Trunks). I feel as if DBZ should be disregarded as reference material due to the litany of inconsistencies (and since it seems certain color schemes have been retconned). All the new material has greater color consistency and if they relied on that the line as a whole could be pretty great.
Actually, never mind anime accuracy. Just ignore all official sources and give me consistency within the line. Give me Goku figures that aren't drastically different compared to the last release (ex., SS Goku, SS3 Goku). Give the figures appropriate skin tones and don't suddenly change them. Give me new SS Trunks and SS Vegeta figures that have the same colors seen on the web exclusive SS Vegeta. For some reason, that's too much to ask for. As it stands I just don't think the new version is better. It has updated articulation and a better sculpt, sure, but...ugh...I don't know. no point in venting about it, people love it, pink skin and purple suit be damned, and I'm well aware people are sick of me coming on here and venting.

It's so confusing. Color errors on a $50 figure. Once again, this figure could have been the definitive version, but ultimately it's another release that doesn't look right with the rest of the line. And...people love it. I'll never understand that. I mean it's fine to say the sculpt is perfect, the sculpt is quite nice and it's a visually appealing figure, but to say it's perfect overall...
OK. Here's what I see from the figure, compared to what I'd like to see. Something close to accurate.
Honestly, the color alone would make it easy for me to say it's "perfect"...quite frankly, I'd love to do so, again, I don't enjoy noticing mistakes and complaining about them, but I can't ignore it.
The new faces simply don't compare to the original/PCE faces. Even the SSGSS Vegeta faces are better and they also utilize the stamped on details. There's just...something off with the new faces. Also, I'm not understanding the insistence that the criticisms aren't valid because this might be a prototype. The Vegeta has the same (inaccurate to everything) pink skin that Awakening SS Goku and SS Trunks have. It's safe to say the figure shown in the review is the final version. Honestly...it isn't like Tamashii has ever pulled some sort of swerve to guarantee figures look like to the advertisements.
I'll say this much - remove the new head and replace it with a PCE head, then you have an SS Vegeta that's close to perfect (in terms of immediate visual appeal, the colors would still be off)...but you never know, Tamashii may have given this SS Vegeta a new neck peg.
(and...it occurs to me that Tamashii seems to have settled on one skin tone for releases, a skin tone that is clearly consistent, and it isn't accurate to anything. pure insanity.)

AUGH...incredible. I'm still hoping for Ocarina of Time versions of the characters but these will be satisfactory if OoT figures are never made, especially Zelda. I've been waiting to see a Zelda prototype for so long.
Tamashii has made me extremely pessimistic when it comes to skin tones. I wouldn't be surprised if the PCE SS3 came out as pale as SS Gohan...or, maybe it will have the warm pink skin tone seen on PCE SS Vegeta.
Just passing along some speculation I've seen...it seems the rumors of a "big" character returning may have some merit, and it has nothing to do with Broly.
This is so great. A day almost everyone on this forum has been waiting for. Here they are, both with the updated articulation and superb sculpts. Let's just hope they don't wind up stuck with all the other prototypes.

volt There already was a premium color Scouter Vegeta released, he has the color palette Toei gave him on the first episode of the anime he appeared in. He has red hair and green and orange armor, he looks really ugly with those colors imo, the original figure looks pretty cool but it's super pricey.
That was marked specifically as "Original Animation Colors", not "Premium Color". The door is still wide open for a PCE Vegeta. Of course, there's no telling if it will come out or not. They could simply modify the new SS Vegeta and make a regular release armored Vegeta.
In this thread, we will be discussing anything and everything to do with the SDCC 2016 S.H.Figuarts Broly "Premium Color Ed.". It's OK to go off topic, but let's try and mostly stay on the topic of Broly "Premium Color Ed." Thanks!

Disregarding my dissatisfaction with the hue of the green...as a variant this a feast for the eyes. Very visually appealing. I'm really liking the somewhat blue/gray skin. Now I see what's going on with the green...it turns out the base plastic (I guess base coat since this could be a painted prototype) is actually an acceptable color, the heavy shading is the problem. Lime green would be nice but if the end result has subtle shading this Cell will be very close to perfect.
Now that's very exciting. This Gohan looks superb. There's no telling what the skin tone will ultimately look like (goes without saying, I don't have my hopes up) but for now I'm loving the sculpt and I'm very pleased they managed to include the updated articulation.

I think I put that image in wrong. Lol sorry, new here
The green plastic used seems like it has too much blue bias. I'd like to think the lighting is hurting it but every other figure in the pic looks as it should.
