I think technically the Sailor Moon SH Figuarts SDCC exclusive was a new character. It was a repaint of Sailor Moon, but in context it's actually Zoisite...disguised as Sailor Moon.

Its not hard to say but simple, its not a new character. As one of the hints I got for the SDCC exclusive is that its not a big deal. Meaning like its nothing that new, nothing that exciting. If it were to be Frost it would of been a big deal as its something way different since if it were to be a new figure. like it was said earlier. A repaint of frieza as frost for sdcc. It's very possible. Although the sdcc is a new character, it's the same exact sculpt. Therefore it is technically not a "new" character on its own. Tamashii is very good with putting loopholes in their words. I mean. They went out of their way to make a new belt sculpt for last year's sdcc. So what makes you think they won't go out of their way for a feet sculpt Because wither you believe or not its still too expensive for simple sculpts. Its not as simple as you think. For Frost one must sculpt both left and right feet, proportions correction, sculpt new thighs and proportions those too, joint fittings to the ankles to the shins, sculpt new tail, proportion that too and joint fit and then color and paint. You really think they would do all that for just a con release, for a few days? No! They want it simple and easy to do. Namek Goku was easy, new belt and face sculpt, slap on kanjis, repaint slightly different and done!
Doesn't matter if its on a same sculpt/body, its still a new character, new figure as IF it was Frost they would have to advertise it as Frost, because that's who they made using the Frieza body, theyre not going to say its Frieza yet it looks like Frost. Its like Vegito basically, his release.
Plus it'd be a waste to sell a new character at a limited amount for a con, as its more gaining if they release Frost as a regular release/web exclusive.

But it was Sailor Moon over all. Again, Bandai/Tamashii didn't do much work for that. It was basically just a repaint. Sculpt a new face, a boomerang, and done! Not a lot of work went into it. |

But it was Sailor Moon over all. Again, Bandai/Tamashii didn't do much work for that. It was basically just a repaint. Sculpt a new face, a boomerang, and done! Not a lot of work went into it. You are picking and choosing what you want from the argument so much it makes my head spin. Sculpt a new face, ok, that's one sculpt. How about Namek Goku, new face, new belt? Btw I was driving today and thinking about the sdcc exclusive this year.. I think it might be Frost from super all they really have to do is repaint freeza and change the feet... It would make sense since tamashii did ask on ig once, which universe 7 character would you like made as a figure.. Just my thought For this one, new feet? Not that big of a stretch there. Granted, it's more of a industry wide tradition that completely new characters aren't put up for con exclusives, but Frost is just a recolor of Frieza, like Zoisite disguised as Sailor moon would be. With that said however, there are more reasons that it being frost is less likely, including, but not limited to the fact that Super is only airing in Japan still, and hasn't even been announced for a dub yet. I know some of the more internet savvy population is watching fan subs, but a lot of the guys that I talk to in person around here are hardcore about the dub, and have pretty much ignored that Super exists until it's in English. Just like some other users on this very site. No offense meant to them, just illustrating that a American only release of a Super character seems extremely slim. |

Tamashii nations exclusive NOT SDCC.... You're logic is flawed Edit: well it was a tamashii nastions exclusive first then a sdcc then just a normal release. Not like a typical sdcc release. |

We just got an update Goku (SWA Goku) but being Goku, I'm sure we'll get another one before long  I'd bet Gohan will be next to get an update, a lot more options there than with Piccolo - though I'm sure they'll give him an updated mold eventually too. |

If they do come out with another SSj Goku, their best bet would be his outfit from before the Cell Games. That way, they'll have to make and include a smiling SSj Goku face. Either that, or they make an accessory pack that gives SSj Goku (preferably the SWA version, as that's the more recent and likely candidate for this) some faces that should likely be included with any Goku set after his exit from the Time Chamber. In my opinion, I believe that this includes: - All the faces that SSj Gohan has that SSj Goku doesn't already have a variant of
- All the more comical faces that the normal/SDCC 2015 Goku has
- More faces for the new SSj Trunks coming out (smiling normal and/or SSj, stoic SSj looking forward, etc.)
- A few heads for Piccolo (smile/smirk with and without turban, angry face with turban)
If we just get all that stuff, it would look super amazing for these new figures coming out, and I would be pretty pleased. I'd love for Goku to smile back at Gohan after transforming  |

So is the new super vegeta a Web exclusive or a regular release like the ssj trunks? It's a regular release. A first for a Vegeta Figure!! If anything, this announcement has solidified 3 things for me! - My big 5 theory. Goku, Trunks, Vegeta, Gohan and Piccolo. The first 3 all got a re-releases/re-paints before their new sculpts were unveiled. Since we have a Gohan and Piccolo re-release coming up I would put money on there being an announcement of new figures before the year it up!!
- Avoidance of the Buu saga. This was a prime opportunity to give the fans Majin Vegeta. At this point it's pretty obvious. Buu Saga was never as popular as previous arcs, which is why Toei initially ditched it in favour of Toriko and Funimation still haven't had it syndicated or released on Blu-ray/DVD in NA. The Vegetto and Gohan Figuarts also bombed in comparison to previous figures in the line. Until things change don't expect any Buu Saga figuarts.
- Cell is coming. The rumours are already out, but I think this pretty much solidifies it. Especially if we consider we may get a new Gohan sculpt down the line. Whether it's the new SDCC, PC or 2.0, a new Cell is pretty much a given. Figure companies have always given the Artificial Human saga the most attention out of all 3 main story arcs of the franchise. It's certainly my favorite so I won't complain!
