I took a few work in progress type of pics and stuff so I'll share those now
This is a shot of how I set up my Battle of Gods scene. I started with repaints of the bootleg WCF figures that I secretly finished months ago and never posted on DBF or anywhere for that matter. I then repainted my old red dress Bulma custom and improved the sculpt of her scarf. The bushes were some kind of moss I purchased and I used an enormous piece of green paper. The white paper was just white paper and the back of a poster I had. The DVD cases are what supported and steadied my camera. The other stuff was holding up the bushes because they weren't glued on or anything, just propped up with random junk.
Here's the pic submitted to the contest
This scene was a scene I've wanted to make forever. I had to work on the Bulma in secret, but because of some health problems I fell way behind. I ended up sculpting and painting her while lying on the couch for several days. I don't technically have her or Goku finished in my scenes, and because I later made a version where I hot glued them into the scene to see if it made them look better, I damaged the paint on them and still haven't finished repairing them. Bulma was a difficult sculpt and paint job. Goku was a difficult paint job because I couldn't disassemble the figure and his gi was a funny color to have to mix.
This was my alternate scene. I didn't like it because the background was now in focus too much and you could see the place where I had to double stick tape two pieces of paper together. I made that background by photoshopping I think 6 different screenshots together. I had to get the sky out of some artwork or something I had saved on my computer that I think somebody scanned from a daizenshuu, because I didn't have enough mountains and stuff to use from the screenshots.
This is the scene I submitted
I made this scene next, it didn't take me very long. I used photoshop and quickly cut out the mushrooms from the screenshot, and printed them onto cardstock paper. I cut them out and double stick taped them to a pile of stuff. I used light up promotional items like shot glasses, some weird blue cube, two fake candles, the assistance light on my phone, and a big hunk of wood I painted.
This is an alternate shot I liked but didn't use, because it wasn't cropped how I wanted it. It sure looks neat though.
This is what I submitted
The set up
This scene was annoying. It fell down 4 times completely, so I gave up and ended up not every managing to get a single shot that wasn't blurry. Porunga was on a box, similar lighting techniques that I used on shenron, a plastic clipboard that's green, a blue carpet sample for grass. Real rocks.
My scene
My last one I made pretty quickly too. I used a new SS Gohan custom I had finished several months ago and never showed on DBF. There was blue cardstock paper, the blue cube double stick taped to my tripod, the red light coming from a promotional shot glass, and just careful placement of stuff.
