I will start buying the comics this week. Will get the first two most probably. Do any of you have them?

I'm not planning on buying them now at all tbh. I don't like reading ahead of any show or movie. Unlike many people, I enjoy watching more than reading

That was intense! Right after I finished the video, I stared at my Mikasa Figma and thought "this is why I bought you".
I didn't understand though, does the new season start on the 22nd of November?

Since 2 weeks ago I have already got the first 4 volumes. Will get them all. I'm still undecided about if I will continue reading the volume 9 (which equals to the 2nd season of the anime) or will wait for the anime to come out. I guess I will just see what I feel better once I read the first 8 comics. On the other hand, I can't wait to get my GSC Mikasa and see the final product of Eren and Levi. And just every figure of Sentinel/Koto/Pulchra that will be released. Can't come soon enough!

How much those cost takezo? I don't really collect manga since it's available online, but i'm tempted! You need read the the full chapters after the current Anime story available, you are missing out if you don't, trust me. I'm waiting on figma Mikasa and Levi to arrive with some other stuff, now just need Armin... Roshi I think there is some more information posted here when the compilation movies were announced a while back if you want to see. I really liked this new trailer too, watched it maybe 15 times... i'm definitely excited for this to come out. dragonballfigures.boards.net/thread/706/attack-on-titan?page=11

I can tell you I'm very happy with the manga. The drawing is way better in the anime overall, but I like to have in paper the mangas I really love. I know man, but as I first watched the anime and then will secondly read the manga, I'm not sure yet if I will do the same with the 2nd season. I will decide after I read the first 8 volumes. If I like the manga better, then I will read first and watch the anime later. Figures are niceeeeee. I could not resist. I thought I would close it with DB/Death Note/Slam Dunk, but I really like SnK. You can post pics once they arrive to you!! But what is that about the compilation movies, exactly?? I watched the trailer, but haven't understand one bit. I just see that is like a summary trailer of all what happened in the first season.

The first movie condenses the first 13 episodes into a movie and the second will be the next 13 episodes. With these sort of movies, there is pretty much literally no new animation. Compilation movies re-use animation from the series, maybe touch it up a bit here and there and shuffle around some of the music and that's about it. It's a very, very easy way to milk a cash cow if the anime is very popular.

there is pretty much literally no new animation. Compilation movies re-use animation from the series The upcoming movies are a theatrical release which will feature an entirely new animation. Refering to Mystical Adventure as an example, the movie re-tall the RR Saga with new animation, new concepts, and even re-designed many of the characters. No, it's literally an entirely new instalment by it's own right. (The DragonBall compilation movie) takezo in regards to the Manga vs Anime artwork, for me, the artwork in the Manga is much more well made, gory, and far more detailed and accurate. You can see many stable differences in various scenes and occasions. When Eren fight Annie, in the Manga the battle damage from Rivaille squad to her shoulders is drawn in every panel, and every blow that she take is illustrated, while in the Anime it is not drawn. Other secnes like when captain Ian save one of the soldiers in one of the early chapters, and you can see the soldiers using their 3-D gear on the titan, the blood from the grasp, and details like this were not illustrated in the Anime. In that specific scene when Mikasa turn around to view this, you can see how the Anime directly adepts the artwork from the Manga - so just using those as a few general examples that stood out for me for this tone of artwork between the Anime to the Manga, but in genral I see the Magna to be more detailed and authentic port of the story, as if Isayama original vision. Of course with time and popularity gain to the franchise the artwork is always refined, late and early chapters have of the Manga have very noticeable differences between them in the artwork. If you view the early draft of Isayama for the series, before the artwork was refrained, the distinction is immense.

Yeah, I was basing my opinion mainly in the first 2 volumes of the manga. The difference of the drawings of the characters at the start at least is inmense between the manga and the anime, way better done in the later. I have seen some ugly disproportionate heads/body, mainly in Eren (first volume mostly). Even the covers of the manga, looks like a complete different style (way skinnier characters and long arms & legs) of drawing btwn the manga and the anime. Eren & Erwin Smith are pretty different at the start. Looks like when the manga advances, the drawing is improving (like you said). In the 2nd I can already see some improvement. And in the 3rd volume looks like the characters are drawn slower and better overall.
Either way, I'm enjoying the manga a lot, it's totally true that although the anime is pretty faithful to the manga, there are some differences and the manga is a bit more violent/gore deaths.

Refering to Mystical Adventure as an example, the movie re-tall the RR Saga with new animation, new concepts, and even re-designed many of the characters. No, it's literally an entirely new instalment by it's own right. (The DragonBall compilation movie) Just because it is a theatrical release, it does not mean new animation is guaranteed, especially in compilation movies. The Dragon Ball movies are one of the exceptions to what the norm of compilation movies are nowadays. Every anime company does things differently when it comes to making them. Toei is a company that always animates new material, even if it covers story content already covered (Example: Movie 8 for One Piece, The first 3 DB movies etc.) An example in my case would be the first two Puella Magi Madoka Magica movies, which retell the 12 episode anime in 2 movies (Movie 1: Episodes 1 - 8. Movie 2: Episodes 9 - 12). Other than a few touch ups in animation (which were already improved upon in the blu-ray release compared to the TV version) and some soundtrack shuffling, it is literally the exact same material, just with some content cut out to try and fit 8 episodes worth of content such as character interaction, backstories, explanations and etc into a 2 hour movie. That's another problem with compilation movies is that they try to streamline as much content into a movie as possible from the source material. The pacing suffers a lot because of this though. Again, another example from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. In the anime, we learn of a character's important backstory as to why they became a Magical Girl, which also gives us a reason to sympathize with the character itself and understand their motives and why they act like they do. In the movie however, they completely cut that entire important segment out, making them just a character who's there to be the obligatory mentor figure, nothing more. From what I have seen, compared to with and read, it will be the exact same case with the 2 AoT compilation movies. It is impossible to fit 13 episodes worth of content into a 2 hour movie without having to cut corners in the story and not having it look weird or off. Now, am I saying that the movie will have no new animation whatsoever? Not quite. All I am saying is to not to go in expecting 100% brand new content to be shown to you that you haven't already seen before. Hell, I am fully prepared to be proven wrong if there is indeed 100% brand new material in that movie that's not re-dubbed lines or new/shuffled music. And just for clarification, I'm not saying people can't enjoy the movie either. I may not be a fan of AoT but I respect the popularity and revenue it has gained in the short amount of time it has been around compared to other popular running manga and anime of the past and present. I hope any fans of the series will enjoy it and be sure to support the official release. Speaking of art evolution, here's an example with Akira Toriyama.
