Yea I used buyee the charged 500 service fee. Ok so I guess theyll just take it from my paypal Yeah, Buyee takes the service fee and mixes it with the total of the auction won, so you never just pay for the auction price but you end up always paying bit more because of the fees. They don't take the service fee out of your account separately.

strange. check your Paypal. sometimes you think you won the auction but unless the auction is highlighted in green letters, then you didn't win it

Has anyone here tried them and got scammed (received a 'not as listed'/damaged/bootleg item)? kingCheck here: 1. myfigurecollection.net/blog/6794&blog=12.http://myfigurecollection.net/blog/8296&blog=1 3.http://myfigurecollection.net/blog/9533&blog=1 Past experiences with them. Like anywhere, you can always be scammed. Buyee doesn't check for bootlegs. They only care you get the merchandise. Items are not refundable nor interchangeable as it is stated on each seller auction listing and on Buyee's Tos. Since Buyee pays mostly via Bank deposit, it is hard for them to claim anything. If you see an auction that doesn't take banks deposit, you will realize that Buyee will not let you bid on it. The highest risk you have buying collectibles in Japan (online with Buyee) is bootleg. But then again, it's Japan and the chances you get a domestic product are very high 90% compared to a bootleg. In the U.S you're more like 75% original and 25% bootleg and in Chinese sites more like 40% original and the rest bootleg lmao. So here are the two main reasons why you can get easily burned by Buyee and the Japanese sellers they buy from: A. All Buyee payments are in bank transfer. No claims can be filed as it would involve a legal process in Japan between seller and buyer and for Buyee it's not worthy. B. Buyee will not check contents for authenticity. They ask you to be sure of the item and seller before bidding. Buyee's staff are mostly not trained to detect bootlegs in specific collectables. People use Buyee to buy everything. From Tea sets to Car Rims to Old Skool sound systems to Fishing rods, Samurai Swords, Geisha outfits, Dragonball figures, One piece Keychains, Ramen noodles, Ramune, etc etc etc etc etc

When you say "them" I assume you mean Yahoo Auctions Japan, which has a number of sellers. Even with Ebay there is a risk of you getting scammed but there are protections, especially if you pay using paypal. I would think the risk of dealing with an unscrupulous seller on yahoojp is about equal, but the issue is you won't have many of the protections offered by a US site. Also because of the language barrier and not dealing directly with the seller it may make it difficult to resolve issues even if they aren't necessarily scams, but mistakes on the sellers part. One tool you can use is the rating system that they have on the site. I would suggest, like if you were buying on ebay, you try to deal with sellers that have completed many transactions with favorable reviews. Another tip would be to only use sellers with images of the actual item, not stock photos. Also, I have used a service that offers content checking for a fee. Realistically, they won't be able to spot a bootleg unless it is egregious and differs from the photo's online. Still I have attached a link: www.sendico.com/help/check.html That service can at least protect you from getting a damaged or totally wrong item.

If you actually take the time to click on the links, you will see who the "them" is referring to... Images of the actual item are bullcrap on Yahoo JP. Sellers reuse images from other auctions.

I should have been clear. I was referring to when burdocksan asked about "them".
I guess the confusion came because my post was immediately following lexiy's post and he also referred to "them" lol.
