I want to make an easy Yamcha fix up by swapping the head off the Irwin suit body and popping it onto a Goku body. Is it easy to just swap the cut joint heads and which Irwin Goku would be the best to use? Thanks all.

Cutting the bang off a jakks mystic Gohan is the quickest solution if you can ignore the inaccurate outfit. The sbc ultimate/mystic Gohan looks quite a bit more like Yamcha and you can probably use wire cutters to trim the blue parts off the shirt.
Now, if you want to mutilate a couple of figures to make one good one, you could get a jakks end of dbz Goku torso and arms, put them on a jakks mystic Gohan hips and legs, cut the belt off the Goku, glue it on, and obviously use the Gohan head.

I suggest you use Bran's SBC Ultimate Gohan suggestion. I never thought of that...as long as you can ignore inaccurate boots.

The biggest problem of all is that there isn't a single irwin or jakks figure with the proper style of shoes or lower legs. You could head swap an AB Yamcha, but that will require sculpting as I don't know anything that will transfer over. It's been so long since I have owned an AB adult SS Gohan that I hardly remember what he looks like much less how his neck is articulated.

The closest thing is the AB Yamcha, but that doesn't serve much because it isn't a very good looking figure. The Jakks Brother vs Brother 2 pack of Goku/Raditz comes with Goku and the right lower pants that stretch to his feet, but you'd have to sculpt pants over the torn holes on his knees. Stupid Jakks was so obsessed with battle damaged figures. Even the Cell Saga Tien had Goku's ripped orange under shirt, painted green. Lazy mofos.

Not at all from what I remember. He's at least the same height as Irwin Goku.

This should help. Keep in mind that I consider the Jakks Gohan and Goku bodies too tall to be them (but I am lazy about my Cell Saga Gokus because I didn't want to shorten all three of them and cause myself to have to do a ton of paint work). In other words, they are tall enough unless you're a perfectionist like me. The SBC Ultimate Gohan is the height I think Gohan and Goku should be for that saga. My unfinished custom is made from parts from 5 different Irwin figures. You won't want to do that, as it's a hard enough custom that even I don't have it finished. You could get away with the formula on the right side, but if you remove the skirt, those legs have super skinny pant legs that look funny for being Yamcha. What I would do if I were you is boil and pop a Jakks mystic Gohan and End of DBZ Goku, use the Gohan head, Goku torso and arms (the best arms Jakks ever made IMO), and Gohan legs. Then use super sharp little scissors and cut the belt off the skirt and glue it on.

I've been looking for the Jakks Mystic Gohan on eBay. Is it just me or have Irwin and Jakks figures started to rise in value again?

The problem with the Brother vs. Brother one is that his plastic is all pretty dark blue, and repainting that sucks. It would definitely prevent you from having to buy two figures and take them apart though. Plus his ankles are painted white, so no paint chipping issues there. Good luck finding him though. I got mine a year or two ago and bought a lot of several figures just so I could get him lol.

It doesn't take much skill to do what you'll need to do, so that's at least good. All you have to do is put on at least 4 coats of orange. I would paint everything with two coats of very slightly watered down (I'm talking less than a drop per each drop of paint) flesh color since it is opaque and works as good primer, and then paint the orange in similarly watered down coats. Then be super careful painting the blue, because blue always has a lot of pigment and mistakes result in another 4 to 8 coats of repainting orange lol. If you get Model Masters Flat Clear Acryl, apply it several hours after finishing the last coat of orange, then wait overnight and if you get blue on the orange, you can wipe it off with a damp paper towel.
Assuming you have Delta Ceramcoat in Australia, what you'll need are...
Delta Ceramcoat Medium Flesh Delta Ceramcoat Tangerine Folk Art True Blue OR if you want a lighter blue, Delta Ceramcoat Copen Blue (which is what I use on my Piccolo figures for his waistband... and then I shade with the True Blue)
Delta Ceramcoat no longer makes a true blue, as it was named Pthalo Blue and I can't find it anywhere. If you add white to any of their current dark blues, you end up with greenish colors, and you certainly don't want a greenish blue next to orange or it's going to look REALLY green. The Folk Art paint is thicker, but good, and just requires more watering down.
If you don't want to sculpt, paint the very top ribbon of Gohan's sash orange to make the belt look thinner, then glue on the belt from some other figure (after painting it).
When Juan made his Yamcha, he just painted the undershirt flesh color. You don't be able to match the flesh color of that figure most likely, so I wouldn't do that. I'd just paint it orange.
