I'd spray that Trunks down with plastic primer or plastic paint after going over the edges with one of the sanding blocks you can get from Sally's beauty supply or maybe Walmart or Target in the health and beauty section if I were you Capsule x Nike. The sanding blocks are for manicures. Those paint chips will show through acrylic paint. Plastic primer is specifically for doing two things: making shiny hard plastic easier to paint and filling in irregularities. I dislike the stuff though because it adds texture. I would get Krylon Fusion For Plastic spray paint and just do that on it in a few thin coats according to the directions. Just get Gloss White if you can't find a skin color and the finish will be similar to a car's paint. If you don't paint it within a few days after you're done spraying it, the acrylic paint won't stick easily, so just wait 2 days for it to dry, and put a layer of acrylic paint all over it. A neat benefit of this type of paint is if you spray the bottom of the feet and don't paint the bottoms, it'll help the figure stand because they'll remain sticky. My HSCF Krillin custom is like that and stands easily.
