He just said paint thinner would destroy the figure before removing the paint.

A wipe with paint thinner wouldn't do much more than remove paint, but soaking would likely destroy whatever plastic item you are using it on. Nail polish remover has ruined countless Hot Wheels cars I wanted to customize when I was a kid

I don't know why I'd want to! But I suppose you could if you wanted to basically remove some of the paint to satisfy curiosity. Either way, it'll be a damaged figure

Unless you are doing it for a custom there is no excuse for ruining a perfectly good figure. Maybe if it was already in really bad condition to start with you might give it a try.

I'm going to be using him in my Figuarts display so I'm happy with it.

Nice! I think he looks right enough to work in a Figuarts display.
I remember back when the Buu saga was on Cartoon Network. Fat Buu started out really huge. Maybe it was only certain scenes, but he looked to be at least 8 or 9 feet tall at times. He got smaller by the end of Z. Unless my mind is playing tricks on me, and that does happen from time to time.

I thought that too. Fat Buu's size did seem to fluctuate a llot during the saga from memory. And I know the Irwin Buu is shorter than scale but he does really look good in my display.

He's close enough @aussiedcfan I think he's going to look great in the display.

Fat Buu looks about the right size for Fat Gogeta if you want to embark on a difficult custom lol.
