Le past haunts ye! BTW, we can't cancel if we think that the shipping is too high, can we?

Their shipping is usually very fair, you will find that some stores will charge you more, while other less. I nevered canceled on Manda so I can't talk from experience, but I imagine that you can do it a few times with no problem, just don't abuse that and explain to them the situation. It is different situation when you reserve items from one-of-kind item listings opposed to AmiAmi where is a wholesale retailer of high stocked items.
I mentioned that because you told me something about avoiding fee, and it doesn't work, it's rubbish...

BTW, we can't cancel if we think that the shipping is too high, can we? you can't because their rules say cancellations are not accepted but lately they have been lenient and letting people cancel a few times I mentioned that because you told me something about avoiding fee, and it doesn't work, it's rubbish... that was a trick i had mentioned a while ago, there is no fee on items over $50 so the guts statue wouldnt have one. if you mean avoid import tax then thats a different story and is illegal in most places. getting rid of the handling fee is simple though, and yes it does work with risk of backfiring

Because I did try that, when I had out-of-stock items in my cart giving me over 5000 yen, and their system doesn't calculate them to the final invoice. A few times actually.
Not sure what import tax have to do...? Usually if I make a big order from a middle man or a ebay seller, or even a online store, I just ask them to write low value fee on the package.

Does Mandarake allow under-valuing of packages to attract less custom/import fees?

I guess it would depend on what store it is shipped from. You can ask and see, I think that they won't do that though.

Does Mandarake allow under-valuing of packages to attract less custom/import fees? It has happened to me more than once that they sent me the package labelled as a gift and with a value of 1000 yen even though I paid more.

Same here, but I did get 8000 yen- 12,000 yen lots and they did marked the package high. So probably depends on the store...

Hmmm. I guess it depends upon different stores.

Even though these were ebay purchases I'm talking about, I wanted to post this somewhere so others might benefit. I've purchased several small figures from Japan in the last few months, and these are how many days they took to get to me. Many Japanese sellers on ebay say that SAL takes 3 to 5 weeks, some say 2 to 4 weeks. Japan to US via SAL: -29 days -17 days -7 days -20 days -10 days -9 days Overall, pretty crazy how much it varies. I did check, and all of these were definitely sent SAL. I'm off-topic again, but I still don't know if this deserves a separate topic or not but... I bought something from Japan on ebay that was mailed July 29th, and it arrived August 4th (today). That's only FIVE DAYS (days the mail runs... I don't count Sunday in this case). That's crazy. It was sent Airmail/small packet.

In my experience, the Nakano store on Mandarake is usually the cheapest when it comes to ordering items, especially if ordering multiple.

Do they charge anything extra if you order from the Kokura store? I want to order only one item and it is about JPY7000. Also, do they help you undervalue it?

Since you're over 5000 yen, you're free at least from the 500 yen handling fee that every store uses. Only thing I can remember from experience would be that different stores may charge different prices for shipping, hence why I stated Nakano was my preferred store to buy from. Don't know about under-valuing items but to me I don't think they would go along with it. If you really want it as cheap as possible, go for SAL shipping. With SAL though, it's gonna take a lot longer than DHL or EMS.

I've ordered from mandarake at Least 10 times and they never stated the actual price of the figures. They always state that the price is 1000-2000 yen and I could've paid 12000 yen.
