Just got my SH Figuarts Vader today. Love it! Came with the diorama set, which I wasn't expecting. This damn figure smells so good! I love that the cape is not a hard plastic or a cloth. Rubber is much better!

Rubber is much better! Can't wait to get mine hopefully this week. Just watched episode V yesterday and he was so badass in that one. Is he sufficiently tall enough? That's one thing I'm worried about.

He does seem to be a bit small. There's definitely a height significance. Hopefully the Luke figure isn't the same height.

Just realized that you can pull the legs down, like the DBZ figures, to extend the height. Looks like 6 1/2".

For quick reference in case anyone was wondering, Figuarts Vader with Black Series Storm Trooper and Tie Pilot Legs not extended Legs extended (notice the gap in his upper legs) Solid figure except he's a little back heavy cuz of the cape although it kind of can function as a stand. Could be taller but overall really well made and detailed.

I debated the Stormtrooper for too long. Now he and Vader are both sold out. Shame. I wish I would have gotten a second Vader, because the Luke figure comes with the Anakin Skywalker head. Would have loved to display both. Vader is already going for $80-90 on Ebay.

I'd call myself a casual Star Wars fan, I have like 20 3 3/4 inch figures and a couple Black Series figures too. I also have 3 replica lightsabers.

Just got the Figuarts Vader and looking forward to getting Luke (if I can find him in stock..). I remember having a bunch of the old figures back in the eighties...(yes, I'm old... )

It does, because we have Bandai confirming the correct size for the 1:12 scale right there. Figuarts is in a different scale. That's fine, but it is.

Then, why are they a different scale than Bandai's specifically named 1:12 line of models? For that Luke to be properly 1:12 he will need to be just a little bit under 6" even. But that would be too tall for the current Figuarts Vader.
The actual measurements don't correctly match up, either. Figuarts Darth Vader is officially 6.1", stated by Bandai themselves. But, the real world height of Darth Vader is 6' 8" which would be around 6.6-7" in 1:12 scale. The EXACT height of the 1:12 model kit. If Luke is the proper 1:12 height he wouldn't be all that much shorter than Figuarts Vader. But, Figuarts Luke is 5.5"...that's WRONG, Mark Hamill ISN'T 5' 6". Mark Hamill in that costume is 5' 10". So, I don't see how that would be accurate, either.
The 6.1" of the Figuarts Vader and 5.5" of Figuarts Luke is wrong, and is NOT 1:12 no matter what excuse you make for it. Figuarts is not correctly 1:12 scale, the measurements don't match up.
You can go look at rebelscum and other Star Wars places where they really scrutinize details, and they're even in agreement that the Figuarts are incorrect to 1:12 scale and the models are more accurate. Over on the Sideshow forums they even agree the model kits are the correct scale and Figuarts are too short. I'm seeing it multiple other places too. All criticizing Figuarts for being too short to be a correct 1:12 scale.

The Figuarts Stormtroopers are inaccurate to the proper 1:12 scale, too. Going by measurements, Bandai has them listed officially at 5.7". But, we know that a requirement of Stormtrooper actors was that they had to be at least 5' 11", and that's out of costume without the bulky helmet. The figuarts Stormtrooper isn't even tall enough to match an out of costume actor. It's not the correct 1:12 scale. But, the 1:12 model kit Stormtrooper measures right on the dot for the correct height in that scale. The exact same as the Black Series Stormtrooper.
Measurements don't lie, and figuarts are incorrect and are not proper 1:12 scale.
