He wants 50 Euros for the figures, which is roughly $66. I offered to pay that and another 50 Euros, so 100 Euros total (~$133 USD). I think that would be enough to cover it. He still said no.
This is what he said
Sounds like he's saying he can't anticipate the cost of shipping. I'm sure they can figure it out online just like we can in the US.
But it's his prerogative. Would be a great opportunity to grab the whole bunch though...

Don't wanna bother PGV, but maybe someone could pay him to get the figures for ya? Since he ships to Italy. That's if he has the time though.

Italy does have funny shipping policies. PGV can explain it accurately, but I think they don't have standardized package mailing postal centers, so you have to go through one of those third party pack and ship to off places. have you ever used one in the US? they charge you like 7 bucks for first class domestic.

If I am having a problem with getting postal costs, especially getting the weight right, I just take the parcel to the post office and they give me a quote. Definitely the man to ask would be PGV though.

I can understand that then. I'll send PGV a PM, to see if he has time to check it out.

Sorry I was busy a few days. Sadly shipping from Italy has weird rules. There are many methods and people are confused about it. Also each postal office invents their own rules, lol . For what concerns me I keep using the same postal offices, which allows me to estimate delivery costs accurately. After some discussions I managed to obtain a listing of delivery costs based on weight, but it happened sometimes to pay more for no apparent reasons. However for a whole set of deagostini figures we surely go beyond the 2kg (weight) limit for the method I use usually (raccomandata estera). And this costs 29 euro to USA. There's a chance to split the figures in serveral packages for 29 euro shipping each, but I have no idea how much all the figures weight in total, so neither how many splits are necessary. I can guess that more than 2 splits are necessary, this would make the shipping really expensive. The alternative method is pacco ordinario estero, in which the weight limit is 20 kg, but it may need up to 2 months to reach USA. It may cost more or less 50 euro. Otherwise EMS for a fast delivery, but considered the weight I have not a clear idea of the cost, I could say something around 70 euro...

For any of those prices, the figures are still a bargain I think. They might not be such a bargain after shipping to PGV and then him having to ship to Mark though. Even if they were 140 euro (50 euro + 20 euro + 70 euro) which would be $186, that's only $3.10 per figure.
What if they are not in good condition? They look good in the picture, but that's because they haven't been shipped to anyone yet. When I bought two small lots of figures several years ago, the ebay seller didn't individually wrap each figure and they rubbed paint off on each other horribly. Several of which I started repainting, but I never finished them. PGV would need to individually wrap each figure, which will add some to the weight.

You are aware that is a bootleg, right king? ok, where do i get the official and how much? There is no "official" as far as I know, that was a one off. All it is was a crappy resin statue set atop of either an official Tokyo toy festival base, or a knock off of that too. Notice how in the picture the Buu is actually bending the clear post? Those are not designed to support that kind of weight. That resin statue is readily available without the dragonball base. Pretty sure I saw one on the bay the other day. Here it is right here: DragonBall Z 7" Ultimate Majin Buu Resin Statue 100%NEW 01

Wow, I really didn't know shipping in Italy was that different from how we work. Thanks for the help, PGV! I think, with all the variables, I'll just let them alone. It is what it is. Qu'est-ce que c'est. C'est la vie.
