So. This collection has been a long time in the making and is by no means near completion. There's still many figures I'd like to add to this display but I am more than content, for now. Figures are from the Super Battle Collection, Super Guerriers and the French AB line, courtesy of Saiyan. Thanks! It's really hard to figure out just how many figures are in the picture, due to how densely they are arranged. Which was not too easy, to say the least. There were a lot of space constraints, which lead to a good deal of re-shuffling and compromise. I do need to replace the Super Guerriers SS Gotenks with his SBC counter-part, as planned. I would also like to get a legit Yamcha & Paur, Tien & Chiaotzu The Pokemon, Kami & Popo and Yajirobi & Korin. So they are all on the agenda, but I can't say when that will happen. It's getting there... So for now, enjoy!

Just awesome SonKakarot. Nice to see the hard work in finding these figures pay off in such an incredible display.

Thanks y'all! It is certainly is getting there. Still it is by no means comparable with some of the astounding collections displayed here. I'm looking at you - MonkeyBoy, Saiyan and CapsulexNike! *Loves staring daggers at the rare figures in your collections# You can't exactly tell from that single picture, seeing how tightly they are all crammed in - but I just counted approximately 44 loose figures. So, it's a decent hoard of figures I've amassed thus far. I plan on adding another 15 or so figures eventually. So it looks like I'm going to have to get super creative when it comes to fitting them all in there, without resorting to removing the MOC figures. I'd really love suggestions of what characters to add to this display. I'm thinking I need a few more villains, personally.

The sbc three pack figures are neat, I've never owned them. Why do you have three Piccolo figures?

Well, mostly because I really like Big Green and felt that he needed to be equally represented in the display. So, I put three of him in there.

I bet they are hard to find in Australia so that makes sense too. I used to have several duplicate figures of rare AB figures like Janemba, Super Android 13, and Android 15 just because they were hard to find in the US.

Maybe SonKakarot you should look at some of the shelf organisers like Bran has to give the display a little more dimension

That thought had actually crossed my mind. Though it would mean you won't be able to see the MOC figures behind the loose figures any more. It is much better in person, seeing as the display shelf is around chest height for me. So, you can see figures quite well. It just doesn't translate in photograph all to well.

Are you looking to add just main characters and SBC-styled ones?

It's not exactly about being SBC styled per se, more so that particular era or crude old school style of figures. The figures I am considering are mostly pre-2000 figures. So, that'd exclude both Irwin and Jakks figures to put it one way. I wouldn't mind adding more off beat characters to the collection, eventually. Can anyone direct me towards an earlier Tien Shinhan figure, of a similar style and scale to the SBC and AB lines -I know there was that one DB model kit of Tien, are there any others? Plus, I need to identify a vintage Chiaotzu to suit. did Atlas make a Chiaotzu in their line - I am right in thinking that the Atlas figures were the baseless variants of the DeAgostini figures, correct?
Here are the figures I am currently considering:
Super Guerriers: Fat Janemba, Hirudegarn, Taipion, Minashiya, Super-Android 13 and Android 15. AB: Kid Gohan, Yamcha, Yajirobe, Bulma, Roshi and Kami. Atlas: Mr. Popo. Chiaotzu?

The only vintage Tien is a 3.5" one that came with the ab Mr Satan car play set so that won't work. The editions atlas Tien is an unfortunately small figure (he's about the size dbgt uub is I think) and thus not to scale. The deagostini one may be the best option. Personally I think it would look best if you made your own from a sbc ultimate Gohan or Vegetto, as the deagostini one is not going to compliment anything too much.
I don't remember if editions atlas made Chaozu or not. The deagostini one is good but again I don't think it will blend with sbc too well. I made my old Chaozu custom from an ab Goten and it was pretty decent. I could actually sell you that if you wanted it, but it needs some restoration.
Banpresto made some sbc style figures a few years ago but they were 6 inch scale. They also made some 3.5 inch figures that look nearly identical so it's hard to tell them apart in pics. The Frieza form 1 from the 3.5" line would likely fit in really well with sbc even though his arms and legs are strangely long. The Bardock from the 6 inch line and some others might look good. I remember those 6 inch figures don't have all of the character's paint colors applied to the back side.

So there was never a SBC Yamcha or Tien made? Wonder what made me think there was.

Pretty cool how you're doing a vintage display. The older figures just have that special charm to 'em.
