zenaku Thank you for making this checklist!!! I promoted your post into being a new thread in the checklist section.
Here are some example photos I have saved in the past...
I'm not sure who originally took these photos, they aren't mine. I just saved the photos many years ago.
I'm not the perfect person to tell the history of these, but these figures were sold in France. In some other European countries, the bases will say DeA or DeAgostini, who distributed these black-based figures in those countries. I know that they were released in Spain and Germany.
I have pictures saved of some of the versions for Spain:

Branjita No problem, it brought me a lot of memories because I bought a lot of these figures in my childhood. Yes these figures were sold in France and were packed just like the King Kai figure. Only the first 3 figures had a large back card and the 1st number was sold with a poster showing the figures from the collection. Inside the books sold with the figures, there are informations about the characters, planets, DB items and mini games. There is also what I liked the most, a drawing tutorial for each character, step by step.

zenaku Can you write more about these, if you know the history? Were they a subscription service that appeared in your mailbox at home? Or did you have to go to a newspaper stand/magazine store and purchase them each month? I have written about these figures for years, but it's been so many years since I have thought about them, that I don't remember the details very well anymore.

At least, will try to remember as much as I can from my childhood's memories !

Branjita As far as I remember, there was 2 possibilities to acquire the collection. - A subscription service that appeared in your mailbox at home (as you said) allowing you to get some extra like a ring binder to tidy the magazines. - In your local newspaper store with a publishing rate of 2 numbers a month. I noticed differencies between the Atlas and Deagostini collections. Until number 42, the figures were more or less the same (at least the same character) but after there are exclusives characters from both collections such as : Piccolo (postboy shirt), Trunks ssj gt, Super Baby Vegeta or Great Saiyaman for Atlas and Yajirobe, Meta-Rildo, Kibitoshin or cardinal Mutchy for Deagostini.

Great info! That matches what I vaguely remember! I do wonder why they started making their own character molds... It's also interesting that Editions Atlas modified several of the DeAgostini molds quite a lot. Most noticeable are SS4 Goku, SS4 Vegeta, and SS4 Gogeta... all of which Editions Atlas improved a lot! Some other strange modifications exist though as well, like how they made Android 18 taller for some strange reason.
I thought I had some comparison images of these differences... but I can't find the pictures right now. Maybe they are on a different computer...
