I think he would be a little too big. For me, the ideal Kid Goku figure out there for this 6.5"-7" scale is the Ichiban Kuji one.

He's finally here! He's a little bit smaller than the IF Labs one, and has fantastic detail, he's really cool from all angles! The best Yamcha ever created!

Such a ladies man. I'd attack that ass too. But poor Yamcha, as soon as she makes eye contact, he gets scared and runs away!

Good question! He's much too big. He's only slightly smaller scale than the Bulma in this photo, so he's like 6.5 inch scale. By the way, I have his head the same distance from the camera as Piccolo's, so he wouldn't be distorted by the camera making him look smaller or larger.

Better yet, compare him to the giant ape rerelease of if labs Yamcha, that's also only a little bigger than the scultures one. Not suitable for figuarts, except perhaps with Krillin since his head is so large.

A tad too heavy on the shading esp. on the arms.

I think the factory figure is painted incredibly well. I don't understand why some people repaint things that are already really good. There's an ebay seller who repaints HQ DX figures and his figures won't sell, because the original figures are more or less just as good (and his prices are high when the factory figure is already great). They should repaint figures that aren't nice to look at... like Banpresto Softvi. They are just boring, solid colored figures, that could be improved with fancy paint jobs.

I don't understand why some people repaint things that are already really good. Branjita it's just a popular Japanese trend to give collectibles and figures a re-paint. It is very popular with HG and vinyl with the db stuff.
