Bandai America recently came out with a new line of figures available at Game Stop, some Targets, and Amazon. They retail for a MSRP of $14.99 in the United States, which is a great value, since I've typically bought World Collectible Figure series (WCF) figures at Barnes & Noble for the same price... and WCF don't come with a cool base or any ki effects.
All of the characters are from Cell Saga, which is cool, because they are all consistent and go well with each other. The blasts look pretty similar among each other, except Piccolo has his special beam cannon, which is an awesome feature.
The best thing about these figures is that they are the same size as WCF figures. The exact same size. So instead of just getting a generic red, transparent base and occasionally a transparent pole for your WCF character for $15... you get a ki aura, a blast, two little dust clouds, a beam-struggle blast, and a transparent pole to support the blasts with your character, for $15. It's honestly a really good deal.
This line could get really cool and unique if they start adding unusual characters to the line. The figure I was sent displays very well... it doesn't look or feel cheap. I can imagine many people buying these to display.
Bandai America was kind enough to send me a sample figure to review, so I did so in the video below. You'll have to watch the video to see the one thing that I disliked:
ssj2dakota The heads of these are too large for 5 inch scale, but the bodies (like DWC and WCF) could be useful for smaller 5 inch scale characters. For example, I think the SS2 Gohan's body might be good for a Saiyan Saga or Namek Saga Gohan if you wanted to swap a Chara Puchi or HSCF head on to the body for a posed version of the character.
Overall, these are just a fantastic value for WCF collectors to have something a lot different from what they are used to buying, for a better value. A lot of the WCF characters from the past few years have been in fighting poses instead of just standing still, so these effects would look quite good with many of them I think.

My SDCC Event Exclusive Super Saiyan Goku vs. Cell Final Form arrived today and I've got to say that I'm loving their metallic finish. I am surprised at the weight of the item, but my God does it feel hefty in a good way. I may just have to go out there and track down the regular releases now.
