When matching an original color is important to me, I usually take the figure with me to Michael's or Hobby Lobby and see if I can find a paint color that will match. That's all I can suggest. You'll have a hard time matching acrylic paint to the unpainted plastic Figuarts uses for flesh colors though.

could i also repaint the unpainted plastic a flesh tone as well to match them and how would i go about painting the face plate to the skin tone would masking off the features work to protect any paint from getting on eyes and mouth or would free hand painting be better ?

I haven't done any matching work on Figuarts figures, but I would assume the best solution is to just repaint all the skin so you don't have to worry about matching. But then, it's going to be delicate and easy to damage.
