I've played it since the first one on the 64, usually play with Marth or Mario. Didn't play the Wii U one though! Looking forward to the switch version.

Smash 64 was an absolute STAPLE for me, my friends, and just about every kid i knew. We'd even play smash64 at my freaking church! (along with kirby 64 and f zero)
In college, I brought my wii and we ended up playing someones copy of melee... next thing you know my 4 person dorm room is the hotspot at all fing times of the day for quick pickup matches, and i couldn't have loved it more.
I've mained C. Falcon and Mario, traditionally. In newer games i like to use Dr. Mario, D.K, Zelda, Ness, Greninja and some others. Super Hyped for ultimate, and would love to play with all of you when it drops!

Really looking forward to Ultimate. So glad they finally added Ridley and King K Rool, and Simon looks awesome as well.

A little upset Goku didn't make the cut but that's okay. I'm still super excited for Ultimate.

See, I don't WANT Goku. Beyond the fact that he's not a video game character and is a major part of his own upcoming crossover, because of how SSB works they either have to nuke his capabilities from orbit, or have Goku be the most overpowered character in the roster. Part of the joy of getting to play Goku in video games is the sense of power that he gives me, and that would inevitably be lost in the SSB setting. It's the same reason I shake my head at people crying for Sora... yes, he's at least a video game character and he'd fit with Sakurai's unholy love of swordsmen type characters, but taking away Sora's full moveset and mobility makes him NOT Sora anymore, at least to me.

I'm still hoping for Geno and Banjo as DLC characters.

There was so many up and downs with the new characters for me. Even though i knew waluigi was confirmed as a non playable chraracter i was hoping he'd appear. Really pisses me off, not sure if it's actually true since it's the internet, that the reason for him not being there was he doesn't have enough stuff for a move set and isn't popular enough. Yet the internet is all about him getting a character, and even if it's not creative he'd have mario and luigi's moves. Same thing with shadow/zero/bomberman being assist trophies, such a waste. The new adventure mode looks great, if it's anything like the story mode in brawl(subspace emissary?). Hopefully they bring in other oldschool characters from the nes era, like geno, or from xbox/ps1 era like crash/spyro considering they just got remakes.

They created a moveset for Piranha Plant. The "Oh, I couldn't think of a moveset" is officially nonsense.
The simple fact is, the reason Sakurai hasn't included Waluigi as a playable character is because he feels the character would be too similar in both appearance and gameplay to the other Mario characters. It's the same reason why Wario didn't show up until Brawl (where he was sporting his outfit and moves from the Warioware series, rather than the Mario one). Aside from his unholy obsession with Fire Emblem (seriously, even my friends who love the series hate the number of blue haired swordsmen Sakurai has crammed in), Sakurai genuinely tries to keep the number of clones down to a minimum, with even the "Echo fighters" all having tweaks and alterations to make them unique.
As for the others... I would not be surprised to see Geno as one of the five DLC. Sakurai's been pushing to include him for the last few games, and there's been some rumors that their deal with Square to get Cloud back for Ultimate included a second character. That said... I'm mostly content with the roster. Yeah, there are always gonna be characters that I want (Waluigi is one of them, even if I am resigned to him never being "official") but hey, that's why modding exists.

Yeah, there are always gonna be characters that I want (Waluigi is one of them, even if I am resigned to him never being "official") but hey, that's why modding exists. Did you use mods for Smash 4? If so, how far did it get? I never did, but I was heavily into Brawl mods. They got to the point where you could have 100 playable characters using a clone engine, and over 700 stages using an alt stage loader. I had planned on making various mod packs, like a Mario one that just used Mario mods, a Zelda one, DBZ, Kirby, Sonic, etc but never got around to it.
Not sure how easy it will be to mod the Switch though. But considering Ultimate pretty much has added mostly everything I modded into Brawl(all returning stages, all veterans, Ridley and K Rool), I don't see much need to really. I guess it would depend on who we get as DLC. Apparently Nintendo is choosing the DLC this time around, not Sakurai. So we'll either get advertisement characters like a 20th Fire Emblem character or maybe they will do some more fan favorites like Banjo. Microsoft's president said he was fine with them adding Banjo, and he even had lunch with Nintendo at E3, so there's hope.

See, I kept to what are known as "internet safe" mods for SSB... so anything I modded wouldn't cause issues if I wanted to go online. It's entirely possible there was more crazy moveset mods and all that, but I was content with new skins over other characters.

I play Ultimate the most. Mostly because the character I most wanted ever, King K. Rool, finally made the roster. So I committed to maining him 100%. I just suck at Smash in general so I don't play online much, plus my connection is lag-tastic anyway.
Before I used to be a Mario, Luigi, Wario and Bowser player in each respective previous game.
