I'd figured since the price is way up there, not a lot of people are gonna go for it. Then the company will probably lower the price down the line to attract more people to buying it. I'll keep on eye on it for a little while and see how it goes. Hot Toys will never lower the price. They have never lowered a MSRP for an item in their whole existence and I've been collecting them since the beginning of the MMS line. On the flipside, you might see retailers offer deals if they're not getting the orders they hope for. Sideshow offered a percentage off on their own produced Starcraft Jim Raynor figure before he was finally released. That figure is currently $500 and I think they offered like only $30 off.

Do not count on them bringing the price down, at all. The market that buy those things is fine paying thousands for their collection. My friend dropped a TON on his Optimus Prime RotF Maquette. More of the normal and retail toy collectors shy away from prices that high, but that's normal for Hot Toys and Sideshow collectors. They won't have a problem selling them.
Aside from their annual sales, and like people said $20-30 off, it's really going to be a gamble if you wait. Once they are gone, prices are just gonna go up just like with Figuarts.

Honestly, the trend I've seen with Hot Toys lately is that their prices are starting to settle around MSRP and stay that way for at least a year (or two) after release. In some cases, they tend to go down.
It's a pretty balanced aftermarket that actually favors the buyers. Unless you're looking for an extremely rare and hard-to-find Hot Toys figure from years back (like I mentioned, Brando Godfather, Two-face, etc.) or catching a limited edition exclusive (like the "SDCC"/Toy Fair Summer Exclusives as they call them). Hot Toys is also pretty regular about re-making/"re-releasing" figures as well. They have constantly gone back and revisited older figures they've done with newer updates. Recently they redid the AVP Predators line-ups with 2.0 figures and they AGAIN released another TDK Batman figure (which they've already done THREE times before). The TDK Batman "re-releases" (which often involve a slightly tweaked sculpt or additional items) have helped keep the aftermarket prices down on those previous releases. Oftentimes what happens is that Hot Toys has gotten better and that motivates them to go back and try again on some of their older figures. They did a lot with "The Dark Knight" trilogy license and they're doing it now with their "Iron Man" license (going back and making Diecast versions of the earlier armors) on top of squeezing in re-makers of older HT classics (like Robocop).
Hot Toys is also sort of hitting a wall where their prices float between $200-$300 per figure (depending on the details and materials). So their starting to see their figures sit on store "shelves" longer because that is pretty pricy compared to what they USED to go for. However, they make the BEST 1/6 scale figures on the market and they have a STRONG hold on that market and are known for their quality and an excellent catalog of licenses, so the money is worth it.

prodigy1367 I watched the first 2 episodes but I didn't like it too much, I thought it was a bit shallow and... girly. What do you think of it?

It's a crazy show, very Japanese if you know what I mean. It has a lot of parellels to DBZ. Crazy action and pretty funny. Keep watching it, it gets wild! The show kind of makes fun of itself with it's over the top fan service but it actually does develop into a really good story

I liked it even though it was weird at times. Plus it's short anime so I'd say give it a shot.

Well Gohan and prodigy1367 it wouldn't hurt to watch it of course. I hope I like it because they surely have great figures for the characters.

O-k. I look at that site but they don't actually have a complete list and missing from there many of the releases?? This site seem to be complete but there is no listing of prices - www.hottoysph.com/checklistHot Toys never sells nor has sold its products online themselves. They only sell through authorised retailers, distributors and their flagship physical stores called 'Toy Sapiens' in Hong Kong, Japan and a few other places. If you want to know the retail prices of sold out Hot Toys figures, just do a search in Google and it'll dish out the product page at Sideshow's website where you can see how much it cost back then. Speaking of hOT toys, any of you getting hulkbuster? I'm thinking about it as my first hot toy. I've pre-ordered 6 of those. it's expensive but, to me, if I really want something I'd go for it. Question tho, do hot toys go on sale? does their value go down? Sometimes yes. If Hot Toys re-releases certain figures or comes out with a newer, updated version then the old ones see a price drop. Otherwise, they hold their value significantly.

Thanks for the honest help. I also see some around the 150$ mark on Mandrake which is a bit more affordable to me. All I want is a catalog page to browse through that contain every release to know the range of characters available to each franchise before making a purchase.
