Recent gets. I apparently bought a defective Wario because he's missing his hair. Ffs! Interesting, Ive seen quite a few world of Nintendo defective figures lately. I went to target last week and saw a Link scattered in pieces in the package, the head was detached and the arms and all... as well as a warrior with the hat detached. I had such high hopes for the World of Nintendo figures...hopefuly they can have better quality control, and step up there game if they release more 4-6 inch figures. It was hard to believe the line was made by jakks :/ I would assumed they would have done a much better job as they did with the dbz, figures back in the day(before the repaint era).

A lot of it is, the technology is there but, companies are still using low quality materials.

Nowadays, Jakks is pretty much a joke. The World of Nintendo figures are an unexpected success, but otherwise their main things are those stupid 30 inch tall figures with 5poa that you see on clearance isles at most stores. The days of their DBZ figures are long gone.

Those 30 inch Batman/Superman/Power Rangers figures, along with the rest, are pretty bad. And, they've been selling pretty poorly. You can look at those, and then compare NECA's recent 1/4 figures and that pretty much says it all. Scott Neitlich, recently, announced he moved to Jakks and the reaction among the majority of the toy collecting community has been, "Good, he can't mess up any lines people care about." I don't dislike Jakks, but they have fallen pretty far from where they used to be.
Do they even still have the DBZ license???

1 those big figures actually do sell well (I work in a toy store and should know) 2 they have no use for the DBz liscence as it is not mainstream enough to be stocked everywhere 3 one of those Giants as goku awesome

I've considered buying some of those big figures before, but I really don't have room for them. They seem decently made for what they are, but I don't have much hands-on experience with them.

The massive amounts lingering in clearance isles of pretty much every single retail store seem to indicate otherwise. As does everything I have heard from employees at those same stores. Poor quality, soft sculpts...bleh. The newest big turtle is a disaster. The thing has such terrible build quality, it's getting pretty bad reviews because it seems to break if you breath on it too hard. You can already start finding him on clearance in stores, most of the time it's already broken. But, to each their own.

yeah, the Big Turtle is EXTREMELY fragile. a few of them broke in shipment. they are good if used for display only though

I have just received the Mortal Kombat 20th Anniversary Kano which is much better than I expected. Also sorry about the picture quality as I had to use my iPad.
Edit: Here is a better picture with it out of the box

Kano and Baraka were the only ones from that wave that I actually wanted to get. The previous wave seemed better, but those two looked good.

Yeah, the other wave with Raiden, Scorpion and Sub Zero seemed better but I found Kano to be the cheapest I could find.

I just stole this rey figure off my nephew im thinking of using it as a highschool gohan base since his pants are already so close to what gohans are and all it would need would be a simple sculpt job from there. Also, theres a goku i customized! used a SSJ body so that now i have a super saiyan head on base body and a base head on early base body
