A humongous thanks to Gonstead for advising me on watching puella magi madoka magica I have to say, when I checked it out at first I thought it's an anime targeting teenage girls or something (due to the demographics of the characters and the opening theme) and watching the first 5 episodes or so was a challenge for me. But oh god this anime is one of the best I have ever watched! It's so philosophical and deep that it blows your mind. Episode 10 has got to be my absolute favorite. I'm definitely going to watch the movies soon. I strongly recommend this to anyone who wants to start watching a new anime. Once again, thanks gonstead!

Hey, no prob ^ _ ^ Just so you know, you can skip the first 2 movies since they're just compilation movies which re-tell the anime. The animation is changed in a few spots, it's all new recorded lines by the actors and there's a couple new music tracks. However, it cuts out a lot of important scenes here and there like Mami's backstory. I'd recommend you simply skip ahead to Movie 3, since that one is an all-new story and takes place after the anime.

I just started watching fullmetal alchemist a couple of days ago. I'm still at episode 3 so I don't know where it's going yet but it seems very interesting.

Brotherhood. I read that it's not much different from the other one except that it's newer and better executed. Which one did you watch?

Brotherhood. I read that it's not much different from the other one except that it's newer and better executed. Which one did you watch? I've seen both. The original Fullmetal Alchemist came out in 2003 but only partially adapted the Manga since it was still being written at the time, so it does its own thing and ending after a while. Brotherhood is a newer adaption that came out in 2009. Since the Manga had finished by then, it adapts everything in the Manga. To be honest, both are pretty fine on their own though they both have their fair share of issues. I recommend giving the original a watch sometime after you finish Brotherhood so you can compare.

Brotherhood has more action/comedy while the original FMA has a darker, tone to it, yet still retaining its humor. Both are excellent but I personally liked the first one better and I love what they ended up doing with the story to make it a really unique and interesting anime. Overall one of the best anime series out there.

I'm watching Durarara right now but FMA/FMAB are next on the list. I'm thinking of starting with FMA.

Idk if anyone has mentioned this anime yet but it's really really good I'm only 6 episodes into it but it just keeps getting better. It's called Akame ga Kill. If u have already seen it plz don't tell me what happens but if u haven't watched it and ur like me and have just about seen everything worth watching this is deff worth ur time IMO.

Just watched the trailer and it looks quite nice, though I don't like the character design.
I've been thinking about watching jojos bizarre adventure. What drove me into wanting to watch it was the amazing figures I saw made for the anime. So anybody ever gave it a try?

The manga is of the same vintage as Dragon Ball, but it's still going today... that shows you something.
My brothers love it. I haven't really looked at it but I think its definitely worth a shot.

I really enjoy it, so for me the anime is perfect. The little lady loves it, too. I made her watch the first few episodes, and she was hooked and watched the rest of it with me. Looking forward to the rest of Stardust Crusaders this year. And, the figures are pretty great. I picked up the reissue of Part IV Jotaro, in the white. Absolutely fantastic!

I was thinking about skipping the first anime part and going into stardust crusaders right ahead. Will I miss anything or is it fine?

I finished watching the anime of Gantz a week ago, and I'm currently reading the manga. Looks like the last is waaay better, just because there is no fillers and it goes into the matter. I'm enjoying it quite much. It has moments of everything: action, blood, comedy, eroticism/sexuality...
