Hey dbf members, im from Sydney Australia, I'm 22 and I love collecting all different things. im relatively new to DBZ figure collecting and I'm looking to start. I want to start collecting a set of the highest quality figures that aren't impossible to obtain and a limited number of figures in the set. (So I can actually complete the set) I was thinking scultures or Hq dx but I'm unsure how many there are of each and also if the set is still being continued. If there is any set that you would recommend I look at that would be greatly appreciated.
thanks guys!

Welcome from a fellow Aussie As far as collecting the HQDX figures are incredible quality though I'm sure someone here can give more help regarding prices and availability. Here is a checklist of the ones released so far... dragonballfigures.boards.net/post/11/thread

I had a look at that page and there is 40 characters so far. Not sure I'd want to commit to that much. Is there any other set that you know of that has high quality without having so many figures.

Thanks gonstead. I had a look at the figuarts and they are awesome but I was looking for a more detailed statue as apposed to the figuarts. They definitely are very popular and seem very collectable. Do you think there is a set that matches my criteria or am I being too fussy? Thanks guys

From what you have written i can say the best line to collect for you would be figuarts zero. This line is brand new and they have shown about 6 figures, and the first one to be released is super saiyan goku followed by super saiyan trunks. The figures retail for about 40USD. They seem to be scaled. So far they have ssj goku, ssj trunks, ssj vegeta buu saga, final form frieza, vegito, and gotenks, not sur about gogeta cant remember. HQDX has a lot of figures with around 8 of them with inflated prices close to the 100 USD. The other problem with the line is the scale. they are all over the place. Last option would be scultures, There statues are either a hit or miss. Some look amazing while others look crappy. Its also a larger scale ranging form 8-10 inches i believe. I hope this helps.

If I had nothing and was going to begin collecting today I'd collect the entire series of Soul of Hyper Figuration and probably nothing else.

Thanks heaps for that. I think I have chosen my line I want to collect. They look awesome. There doesn't seem to be much info on them on this site. Is there any where else you would recommend?? As for the price that's pretty good. It'd pay more if there was a higher end set available. And your right with scultures. Some look amazing and others I was disappointed. Thanks again

They made tons and tons of characters, they are 2 inches and highly detailed, they scale well with each other, and, well... they're just really nice I think.

I gotta say that the Figuarts Zero definitely sounds like the way to go. SS Goku is being released on the 15th and SS Trunks is coming in January. The other one shown so far has been Final Form Frieza. We have also seen these prototypes.
