So I'm really interested in the DoD Future Trunks and Vegeta figures, but Amazon.ca has Trunks on for $102.35 and Vegeta for $63.13. Are there any ways of getting either of these figures for a reasonable price? $50.00 is about the maximum I'd pay for each of them as I'm not one of those collectors who's willing to spend, say, $100 for something that's manufactured for mere pennies. You're in the wrong hobby. And they aren't manufactured for "pennies."

You're in the wrong hobby. And they aren't manufactured for "pennies." I am exaggerating slightly, but they manufacture these things for much, much less than what they sell them for. Also, I'm not in the "wrong hobby" just because I'm not willing to pay massive overcharges.

That's just what they cost, I'm afraid. I've seen some bootlegs that are pretty cheap, if you wanna go that route.

Amazon has the DoD Vegeta for $45 shipped (to the US) And the Trunks for around $80. What I suggest is that you buy them in bulk to save on shopping. Save up and get 4-5 items that you really want, and shipping will be much cheaper. Or find someone based out of The States that is willing to order these for you and ship them all together. It might be even cheaper considering the prices here in the US are lower.
But it's not cool to tell the OP that "he's in the wrong hobby" just because he's being assertive and looking to stretch his dollars. Plus, he has to take international shipping charges into consideration.
That being said, if you don't already have the Master Stars Piece Vegeta, I highly recommend it over the DoD. Way cooler, IMHO. And same price.

Also, I'm not in the "wrong hobby" just because I'm not willing to pay massive overcharges. Ever bought a coffee in your life? Or a beer? Maybe you've purchased a bag of chips for three or four bucks.... something which LITERALLY costs pennies to make. Are those overcharges too much for you? Cost is relative, and worth is subjective. Saying you don't want to be "overcharged" is naive. I could say that I don't think a pair of pants made in a foreign country are worth $80, when the unfortunate people making them earn a few dollars a week, and the cost to produce them is even less. But hey....I want the pants, and unless I go to the thrift store or snatch the pants off someone sitting in a bathroom stall, I ain't getting those particular pants. So either you want the Trunks enough to pay the asking price, or you don't want it that badly, and would rather split that money between buying a cheaper, but still overpriced Trunks figure, and then using your leftover money to buy an overpriced sandwich at the local gas station. IDGAF. But unless you either swindle an online seller, buy a knock-off, or just get so damn lucky you have horse-shoes propping your fanny up off your comfy little sitting place, you're gonna have to bust out what it's "worth"....which is to say, what it's worth to actual collectors, who actually collect crap.

I mean, you make some valid points. But at the same time, the OP stated that he's willing to pay $50 max, for each. That's not really out of the realm of possibilities. In fact, the Vegeta is already $45 shipped here in The States. I personally picked up a Figuarts Zero EX SS Trunks this week for $50 shipped on Amazon. I mean, the prices do fluctuate, and are not set in stone. So I mean, you do make some valid points, but there's nothing wrong with being a savvy shopper and looking for deals. To the contrary, it's smart. And just cause the MSRP of a certain pair of jeans is $80, it doesn't mean that you can't buy them somewhere discounted. Doesn't mean you automatically have to pay MSRP. There is such a thing as promotions and sales. And I understand that the way he said things was exaggerated, but he's just looking for deals and tips, so let's choose to focus on that. My tips: 1. Keep an eye out on ebay, Amazon, and toy websites for sales and/or lower prices 2. Try to buy in bulk to save on shipping. Or find someone based out of the US to buy the items for you and ship them all together. Best regards, Max

My mistake. What I should've said was this: While I understand that all companies charge more than they pay, I can't justify spending (for the sake of simplicity) $100 (CAD) for a non-articulated statue when I could spend that money on a game + DLC which would give me years of new experiences. The figure, however, would just stand around and look pretty. I'd love to buy even just one of these figures as they look incredible; however, $100 isn't something I can just dig out of my pocket at any time and, therefor, I'd only want to spend that money on something that I know I wouldn't regret buying. A figure that costs, say, $20.00 isn't overpriced in my eyes as even my trailer-trash ass has a spare $20.00 at any given time. While you could say "then just accept crap or stop collecting", I shouldn't have to choose between those as these figures are as pricey as they are strictly because companies know people will pay it (not because they cost anywhere near that price to manufacture).
Anywho, that's more-or-less all I have to say on this matter.

Anywho, that's more-or-less all I have to say on this matter. Ehm..you should just do knock offs in that case. 1)There are some decent MSP and Megahouse KO's around 20-25. And 2) You dont have to worry about shipping surcharges as it's all shipped free to North America from China. Win-win.
