August 9 release! I'll cover a few basics to start the topic. 18 Quintillion planets to visit. 18,000,000,000,000,000,000,000! Most likely trillions of species to discover. Say I go to a planet the size of Earth it would take 9,500 real hours to walk the surface in straight line. You also catalog plants like the animals. The guns and ships are basic but, the upgrades you find to use are randomly generated! The game is a giant universe with, solar systems, stars all that good stuff.
NMSIS.net is a clan I'm in (PC and ps4). I believe it has around 200 members currently. Guild hall will be a solar system lol but really.
Even if you hate the concept will you join me in my quest to find Namek and the dragon balls?

I thought where you started was completely randomized, and it was implied that finding other people would be rare? How does a guild work with that kind of setup?

Good question and not the first time I hear this concern. The clan expects no in depth interaction between members for at least the first month of gameplay. Everyone will eventually make their way to the center of the universe. The base would be in the same direction.
I was relatively surprised to hear from members there's a marketplace. This will take 40-400hrs to locate depending on how you play the game. I'm sure other locations will emerge as meeting locations.
ATM we are planning on anything potentially being possible. The game is stated 1 player purely due to size. Joining a clan will be the quickest way to locate others. Not to mention making epic raid teams.

This is a bit new. No Man's Sky has been beat in 36 hours. Mainly due to a poor trading system that makes you rich. There is a reddit article the guy who beat the game posted. Amazingly he did not include spoilers.

That game did end up being a massive disappointment from what I heard. To call it a massive disappointment would be an understatement. Repetitive gameplay, little to... oh who am I kidding, ABSOLUTELY no story. Boring npcs that don't really have quests for you. Abominations created by their "amazing" procedural generation system. The same 4 planets 9001 times. And the best part, the center of the galaxy! The one thing marketed as some kind of really cool secret... was a all horse hat. Once you reach it, the camera zooms out, erasing all your progress and starting you out somewhere randomly in the galaxy again, lmao a giant middle finger to anyone who put time into getting to the center. Sean Murray, the ' face' of One Mans Lie will never work anywhere in the industry after his run with "goodbye"games. jerk lied to the entire world with a crap eating grin, selling us on features that would never come and things that were impossible to deliver. I can't imagine coming back from something like that. I couldn't forgive him. He crossed the line with me personally. I personally waited, because the entire thing seemed almost too good for me (and I had been fed by destiny earlier) so I decided to wait for all the reviews to come out. But my friends... All my friends bought into his lies, all hoping they would embark on some epic galaxy wide adventure... only to realize that they just wasted 60 dollars. Had a few friends say "Oh well, I'm still having fun with it." But their tune quickly changed as time went on, regretting that horrible choice and damming Sean. A friend who works at gamestop said toe that the week following One Mans Lie release, she was flooded by people coming to trade the game back in, all around at the same time. She took it to heart when they did so, telling them that she was so sorry about selling this game to them (and by selling I mean like talking them into it, repeating Sean Murray's lies in order to get more people to buy). TL;DR: The game is garbage of the crappiest decree
