Here, you can post any interesting DB/Z/GT custom items you find on the internet. Not figures, but accessories and other custom merchandise. Hey everyone, I've heard some of you express interest for a SDCC Scouter modified to work as a gaming headset. I'm highly considering making some if there is enough demand. If those interested are looking for a specific headset to be used inside the scouter, let me know I can look it over and figure out if it's possible. The Xbox 360 headset I use is the basic one that comes with the system, and I'm certain that one would be a good fit for the scouters, but I could also install wireless and/or bluetooth headsets. For the last 2 and a half years I have been modifying GameBoys and other vintage video game consoles for the purpose of composing music. I'm very skilled with a soldering iron and dremel, as well as building custom circuits. I have all of the necessary tools readily available for modding a scouter, the only things I need are the actual scouters and headsets. The 3 packs of scouters are still available for a decent price, so the sooner I know, the cheaper I can get the scouters. Feel free to ask any questions! Seems like the right section to me. You should caption what your photos are, because I have no idea wtf this is supposed to do, but I'm intrigued by it!  Also, would you have any use for a Sega Game Gear? I have one and the screen isn't that great and the speaker for some reason doesn't work. |

Haha thanks! That one there is a GameBoy adapter for the Super Nintendo that's been modified to have full MIDI capabilities, that's what all the lights, button and the two cables on the side are for. It also has improved quality sound jacks. You can hook up electronic instruments and music programs to it and play MIDI songs through it using the Gameboy's sound chip.
Yeah there's some things I could do with a Game Gear, could probably repair the screen and speaker at least. You looking to sell it?

That's a relief. I thought you invented something to play Gameboy games on a TV w/o using emulation! I was going to be like "Make me one to play Nintendo DS!!!" I could sell it if you want it. What's a fair price for a Game Gear now? I originally planned on selling it along with the accessories 3 years ago on ebay. I know I sold all but a game or two. I'm not sure if I sold the battery pack or not, but here's pics in case I didn't.  screen is pretty dim and can't be seen from straight on for some weird reason, maybe it's only dim looking because I'm used to a 20 year newer LCD screen on my phone...  no corrosion  no broken, missing, or dirty parts (I don't know why the speaker won't work nor why the screen sucks)   Does have some minor scratches on the screen   |

With the screen issue, it looks like they go for about $20. I guess it's a somewhat common issue with Game Gears, but I think I could fix it. Let me do a bit of research to figure out what all I can do with it, and I'll decide if I wanna buy it.

Thanks guys, your posts made me look for my gameboy and I found. I'm surprised its still working and the games aswell. The 2 that don't have an image is original mario bros and Pokemon silver. No cue where my other games like megaman or donkey kong country went....  |

Ah man. I had a bad experience with my one and only game gear. lol. when I was back in middle school(6th grade), I would take it to school with me. Well, one day while riding the bus to school, I let a couple older Cholos(google it) that were in H.S play with it, even though I knew I was making a bad choice. So anyway, we get to my Jr.High, and it was time for me to get off the bus. I asked for my game gear back. And they were like "what game gear". lol. smh. Ugh. Anyway, I proceed to try and go through their stuff to try and get it back, and when I did, I got about 5 shots to the face. lol. I got the living you know what beat outta me. And on top of all that, the bus driver didn't do a damn thing about it. Probably cause he was scared they would beat his behind too. So yeah. That's my game gear story. Oh.. And I only had it for about 1 week or so, until they beat the crap outta me for it. Moral of the story. Don't take your expensive stuff to school, if you live in a bad area. Likely hood is, you're gonna have to fight for it, to keep it. And if you have to fight some cholos(google it), you're gonna loose. Unless you're a skilled fighter or something like that.

I think everyone knows what a cholo is lol. And sorry to hear that story mate. I know how that feels, trust me. Down south Texas is pretty much Mexico soooo.... yeah... To many bad memories, good thing in middle school I didn't back down even though I was a pip squeak and I guess that got me respect or something. People didnt mess with me at least. Plus I had some great friends that would back me up if needed. Still stuff like my kinder graduation ring, some figures, or my DS... Regrets man.
