Yes, it's fully backwards-compatible with all Wii games, controllers, and accessories.
Starting on Sept 20th, the Wii U will be getting a price cut of $50 down to $299. And there will be a bundle that comes with Windwaker HD and a Zelda gamepad.

Thanks for that ToadKart. I love when a new console is backwards compatible. Really adds to the variety of games you can play.

Wii U looks really cool actually. I'll probably wait for a bit more of a price drop before getting into it. Loved the Zelda Games for the Gamecube, like Wind Waker for example.

I might hit up the Zelda Wiiu bundle come Christmas this year. Seeing as how all the other Zelda consoles go on to be pretty valuable later on. Plus it'll match my Zelda 3DS.

Nintendo has really lost there touch, I mean how many DS variations are there anyways? Soooo many X.X It goes *Standard* - *XL Version* - *3D* - *XL Version* - and so on for whatever "new" thing they'll be releasing. This is just the most recent things, not including the original DS, the DS Lite, DSi and so on.

Nintendo has really lost there touch, I mean how many DS variations are there anyways? They've always done that though. Gameboy- Gameboy Pocket- Gameboy Color Gameboy Advance- GBA SP- GBA Micro But yeah, that 2DS looks pretty awful. Not sure what they were thinking. At least they're on the right track in cutting the Wii U's price. Not sure how much of a difference it will make once the other two new consoles are released though.

Then there's the lite versions and ugh.... Ah well. Wish them the best I guess? Yeah that thing is horrifically designed. Not portable anymore, doesn't fold, the buttons/sticks are dumb and badly placed, and there's enough DS versions already.

Well, the DS and 3DS are two different systems. So there's only 3 versions of each, which is the same number as their older handhelds.

Game boy, game boy color, GB advance, GB SP, SP lite or something? Then again plus I think the previous ones were more advanced? Gameboy/color was more pixel wise, advance/sp was err... 2d or something(you know what I mean), and DS was 3d or more definition. As far as I can tell my DS games look pretty much alike as the newer ones. That's just me though and I probably don't know what I'm talking about lol.

Nintendo has really lost there touch, I mean how many DS variations are there anyways? The Gameboy/DS has seen so many revamps it is getting ridiculous. Instead of rereleasing with little updates they should hold back and have major releases instead. Plus did anyone else get a headache playing the 3DS or was it just me?

I heard it was causing harm to kids eyes, I didn't hear it from something/one reliable though so no clue. I didn't play it though.
