College is probably the most fun time of your life, I loved it, and I didn't even party or anything. It's the one time ( the last time) in your life you'll be surrounded by people exclusively your age, the girls are good looking, you finally have a class schedule with a break, you get to study almost only what stuff you're interested in... shoot... college was great! You'll have a good time. I do have some advice, introduce yourself to at least 4 people in every single class on your first day. these people will end up your friends and most people are too nervous to do this themselves. it will make your class more comfortable. I would usually introduce myself to like every decent looking girl in the class over the course of the firstweek lol. also, if you're going to a college outside of your home town, you get a fresh start to be who you want to be. I was introverted in high school, but extroverted in college.

That's the thing I'm looking forward to but eh, I still have no clue what I want to be and had to give them something and I said accounting. Hopefully I like it because if I don't I've wasted cash and time. As for the girls, no problem. The question is who? Lol. It's in my hometown(save cash and don't have to move). I'm f'ed either way lol, high school made me lazy.

I actually worked for a few years after high school before going back to college. Believe me you are going to love it. Best time I had in ages.

If u get the chance and have the $ I suggest going to school away from ur home town and living in a dorm ur first year. It was the best thing I could have ever done. Just make sure u know ur roommate I wouldn't just let them pick ur roommate for u I watched that drive some people close to insanity lol. For all the bs rules they give u in a dorm it makes it easy to make friends quick plus u hear about all the good parties and what not staying with so many people plus uve got another 3 years to live off campus I think living in a dorm is a big part of collage life and even though at the time I thought id hate it I couldnt have been more wrong

Looks like you won't be on DBF as much lol
How do you not know where your classes are? That info should have been given when you signed up for classes. You mean you know the room number but not the physical location? You better show up a good hr or two early to find them. For books, have you checked your school account email? Sometimes, teachers email you what you need if you need it on the first day. Otherwise, they'll tell you tomorrow and your school bookstore is going to have a line out the door.
Personally, I lived at home and went to college six months after graduating high school. That way, I was able to get a job during the summer/fall and pay for it. I didn't party, but man, I LOVED the freedom that college gave. On campus, off campus, you are on your own. No more being babied by stupid rules. My first day was in January of 2007. First class, got a seat next to a very good looking girl and got to chat with her. Over a few weeks, we talked more and more and walked together on campus. Then one time after class, she asked me if I wanted to join her and her friend "off campus" for a smoke. Oh man.....lol I said ...no because I didn't smoke and because I was, well, stupid? Thinking my hard to get ways would push her closer, it backfired in the ugliest of ways. It offended her. Couple days later, she hadn't really texted me and she came to class with some other guy...a cocky surfer dude prick who had bleached hair. I found out after a week that they had begun dating and I approached them both after class. As people spread out anticipating a fight, I proceeded to tell him off and she got between us. Classic. She had some unkind words for me which I returned to her later that day lol Long story short, I lost my chance and she ended up braking up with him any way. She would vent to me, but nothing more. She proceeded to hate us both forever. College, I have SO many stories.
I completed almost two years and then took three years off in which I got married/had a baby. I just went back this spring to complete my two years, so I have two years left, but they will be done with online classes.

College is fun z. Like bran said introduce yourself and meet new people. Just make sure you go to class and pay attention. Learn how to balance school and fun. Also don't worry about getting lost. Just ask someone (preferably a girl). Have fun man. It's going to be great.

yeah like everyone says college is fun. lol i got all my wild stuff out in highschool so by the time i was in college i was all business. in high school i was the angry kid that did all the bad stuff, hung around the wrong people, ignorant, bad grades, gotten in fights, skips all the time, partied, suspended, etc...name it ive probably done it. after graduation, i matured up like 300% more after realizing im in the real world, i needed to grow up, and i really have no one to depend on from here on end except for me. my outlook in life really changed. i went to college and didnt realize i have the potential to be a good student. i went from being the bad kid to a nerdy quiet one in college. i went in, minded my own business, and got great grades, made deans list multiple times, and graduated top of my class. people in my high school still doesnt believe i was that person lol.
long story short college experience was one of the best things ever (for me anyway) it let me: 1. grew up 2. change my outlook in life in every aspect (from politics, to sociological, to ethics, to medical, to general knowledge), as i get more and more educated 3. provided me with a good career now couple of warnings and tips though: your first year, you may find 2-4 students in your class who still act like theyre in high school (most of the professors put them in their place though), but its not as bad as it was in high school, mostly everyone was matured, quiet, minded their own business, and just came in to get their grades. also make sure you know your professor's pet peeves and their testing styles, thats a big deal because everyone has different styles. Time management is very crucial (cant stress this enough), you must find time to work (if you have one or want one), for family and friends, for school, and for studying. its hard work too but youll thank yourself later on

Z, you should do what Adam says. At my school all schedules are posted via the school's personal email account and books can only be bought if you have a printed schedule. Seriously get there early as I've known some professors who drop students the first day if they arrive too late to class. For me personally college isn't fun, it basically just a boring job and I kind of like that. I'm naturally anti social so I don't like distractions, I just work and leave as I don't have time to play around. In high school I didn't have to work hard so it was all fun, I missed about 50+ days of school but still maintained an A average even though one of my teachers wanted to kick me out for it, really backwards logic but w/e he was a dick. In college I can't slack off as much cause there are no make ups, no sick days, nothing so I have to straighten up. Its kind of a good thing as it prepares me for the minottiny of adult life, its just severely boring for an already boring person. Plus aint no hot guys to even stare at . The only thing I can't stand about it is the policies and mandates, they are as backwards as the previous schools only difference is you can express yourself however you want. One time I had to pay my school $400 due to withdrawing all my classes as I had medical problems. I already worked everything out with my professors but did the admins care? Nope. Only if I was deployed to war or had a family member that died would I be exempt from paying. Simply put you could be put in the hospital on the brink of death and still be billed for classes but if your mom/dad/brother/etc dies or the Gov't ships you away then sympathy is given. I don't know if students were abusing the system prior to the policy but this current system is horse hat. I'm sure you'll have some fun but make sure you know where things are and stay on top of your work cause unlike public school it ain't free.

Scary but interesting stories I myself want to experience.... Well high school rotted by brain pretty much, I'm lazy as f and I was a bad kid like ascat yet I never got in trouble. Still I got honor graduate somehow lol. I love how everyone mentions a hot girl or something like that haha.
Is that a good thing Adam that I won't be on? Lol it's okay. Plus my schedule is 2 classes on Mon/wed/fri and the other 2 on tue/thu during the middle of the day so I got night and morning to myself. I know the room number thing yet there's like 5 buildings so... Wtf do I do lol. Yea I was planning on getting there like an hour or 2 earlier to figure out stuff. As for college stories I wouldn't mind some more lol.
Bran my phone is the cheapest one, and my iPod broke, and my ipad I don't feel like carrying around lol. Also my laptop has no charger atm so I can't use that either!
Ashelia seriously? Shizzle. You're telling me they'll take cash from ya in any way possible? D:

Z the main thing is to enjoy the experience and try your best in school. Do that and you'll be just fine.

Gohan: Yup, like I said I don't know if they were having issues with students abusing the system but even so the world is dangerous and people get hurt, hell we've had several guns on campus and a suspicious package a few months back. I'll hopefully be done by the end of next year, then I'll get to worry about insurance fing me over...yay adulthood. As for finding your classes, there should be a number that indicates your building number next to the room number. Did your school have an orientation that explained things like this or do you have no idea what the hell I'm even talking about lol?
