This isn't a sport. We're not debating good or bad purchases. We're talking about people spending money. If I try and snipe bid a product but they had a higher bid than myself? Guess what? They still get the item. It's the consumer equivalent to gambling. I'm sorry the idea of people who have money, a desire and a lack of market knowledge scares you but as you said, this is how supply and demand works. So in that regard? No, there is no inexperienced bidder because when a person puts down money on something, that determines worth to that person. Your comparison to investment is completely off. While people do try and turn a profit off of figures you are failing to acknowledge that the collectibles market has a large number of people with disposable income who when they want an item for their collection, they get it. It's a fact. Are you even able to communicate, without making it so painfully obvious exactly how stupid you are. Your stubbornness and outright refusal to accept the obvious fact that you are wrong does not make your argument right. You said there is no such thing as an inexperienced bidder, and that there is no advantage whatsoever to prior experiences with auctions. So, therefore the fledgling eBayer is just as experienced at placing a successful bid as those who are placing their hundredth or even thousandth bid. That is just dumb! Knowing when to place a bid can be just as important as the number you enter - maybe even more so. So you would say there are no advantages to extrapolating opposition bidders past bidding increments to better estimate their current highest bid, allowing you to efficiently outbid competition at the last second - ensuring you the lowest probable margin for success and the best end price possible. I'm afraid you aren't fully comprehending the true art of bidding in auctions. The idea isn't to simply win the auction by bidding the highest. Any Arab with an oil well and Swiss bank book can do that. It's about making your purchases at the best possible price - knowing that an auction has exceeded the item's worth and when to walk away. True victory comes from placing a well timed bid and securing an item for well bellow the items real value - leaving your opposition crushed and in a bewildered stupor. Such a flawless victory can only come from experience cultivated through the years of trial and error. Point, case. If I put down a bid for $100 on something that is currently at 0.99 cents and you put in a bid for $1.00, what happens? Your posts are so eccentric and delusional that I am actually trying to determine if you are being sarcastic or not. What you are determining to be an inexperienced bidder is actually not in fact an 'inexperienced bidder'. Ironically, it's what you are by your own definition. That would make you an inexperienced bidder. I managed to get mine for $120 and you paid $170? Please don't be inflammatory, I never insulted you. Also, Ebay's auction format is so far removed from the process of most other methods that it's not even funny. If you have ever done a real auction or used Yahoo Japan auctions, then you'd realize that none of those methods would work. I set up all of my yahoo auctions to sniper bid with the maximum amount I am ever willing to spend. How is the "art" going to help you beat me in an auction? It won't, you just have to out bid me. Edit: For anyone who doesn't want to spend $170 here is a cheaper and bid free alternative: www.ebay.com/itm/SDCC-2015-Exclusive-SH-Figuarts-SON-GOKOU-Goku-Frieza-Saga-Tamashii-Dragonball-Z-/151746583606?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2354cd1c36

I didn't even realize that Goku was up on BBTS. $120 would of been enough for me to think about it, but I would of pulled the trigger on him. Bummed out he is already sold out in a matter of hours.

Wow, I might not be getting this figure at all. Knowing my luck he'll go up on Bluefin while I'm actually busy at work for once and I wont find out until I get home.

Coot You say hours, but what you actually mean is 40 minutes. My god does every thread have to have some sort of drama these days? Not to say I'm any sort of veteran of the boards, but yeah, recently there has been a lot more, mostly starting around the Mexicu announcement. This lone figure is a plague of sorts! Wow, I might not be getting this figure at all. Knowing my luck he'll go up on Bluefin while I'm actually busy at work for once and I wont find out until I get home. My nightmare. If I can get it from Bluefin for DECENTLY cheap, I am hopeful to pick up 2. One for regular display, and one to put Vegeta's scouter on for a Ginyu Goku head.

Sadly I am skipping this figure. Its a hard pill to swallow, but it has to be done. I keep thinking about the other figures being better than this one.

Holy crap I was just taking a guess. I guess I will write this dude off competely then or wait until there is a KO of him. That is redic that he sold out this quick. Did the original SS SDCC Goku sell out that fast back in 2011? Coot

To be fair, this is BBTS's stock we are referring to and is most likely either an assumption of future stock or the few they snagged while at SDCC. Seeing as how mine hasn't been shipped yet, I don't honestly know. It just says pre-order July. But it was up for 1 - 2 hours before it sold out.

It's only gonna get worse from now on...

i got sdcc SSgoku for $70 shipped to the UK in 2011 - ah ,they were the days
i sincerely hope at some point in the future either datong does its thing or that bandai pull there - 'oh its so exclusive we cant release it again. but wait, what the heck we'll change it 1% to get around that rule' move, and they bring out a saiyan saga version at retail by just changing the gi logos
probably the only way some of us will get one of these now unfortunately

For the record, I actually managed to snag mine for 130. However, being that I am in Australia, I usually get bent over on the postage and handling charges - and this purchase was no exception. No matter. I am happy with my purchase and to be honest I probably would have paid more, if the need had arisen.

dammit, here's to hoping that prices go down eventually.
but yeah seriously, whats with the flame wars here?? they're just figures for goodness sake... i swear some of yall are just doing it for attention or to feel like your better/knowledgeable above everyone else. mods should really ban this kind of talking, not good for the community. debating is one thing, but name calling is another.
