Nah, I don't think the boxes really matter THAT much to drop the price. It's the figure that matters really, not the box (except MexiGoku for obvious reasons).

There will inevitably be detractors as it totally screws up the profile on the side when all lined up. But if anything it may just make some changes in the prices in sealed boxes maybe, but it's very much not likely. The thing that will shake up this line and the prices more than anything will be more "Advanced Color" versions. Getting Trunks for sub $200 would have been absurd back in April, but now it's actually possible on a regular basis.

Actually, I think the prices of the original Trunks will stay around the same, if not increase more as you actually get a lot more in the original than the new Advanced Color "incomplete version" coming out. I wish it'll shake up the price but by comparing the two, I doubt it'll shake up the price.

Um, why does the Out of the Box video review of this figure look awful?

Um, why does the Out of the Box video review of this figure look awful? Why's that? Out of the Box videos are made by Animexico, who is the official Tamashii distributor for Mexico and I suppose some of Central and South America. They do their reviews of the "sample" models that Tamashii sends to distributors like Bluefin, Animexico, etc. So it's also likely their sample model doesn't have the final production paints and additional changes that Bandai-Tamashii might do between now and the time when they get the production runs going soon.

Im still not convinced he is a standard release I know there has been a bit of clues shown but dont regular releases have a more pale color? this goku has a red orange gi while tye other standard release non bd goku is yellowlike orange, anyways it doesnt matter because im buying it as soon as it comes out and I wont think of reselling this figure since its badass

Tamashii knows that that Goku will sell VERY WELL. So they want to keep the rerelease option open for the future.

I can 100% assure you. As many have said before, Dragon Ball has greater popularity outside of Japan. Therefore, it doesn't usually make sense for them to mass produce for the local retailers. This is why the majority of Dragon Ball figures have been web exclusives in Japan, and sold via international distributors outside (Bluefin, etc.). Piccolo, SSJ Goku and SSJ Gohan are the only other reg releases. They were the original line-up, but they didn't sell well in Japan which was why they then stopped. Tamashii have taken a risk with this new Goku as they think it will be popular enough to sell in Japan. The shading means nothing. The last normal release was 5 years ago. A lot has changed by then!! Look at Tamashii's latest Kinnikuman releases:

Um, why does the Out of the Box video review of this figure look awful? Its a prototype, Bandai/Tamashii sent them a prototype/sample for them to review.
