Hey guys, just hoping for a little help. I just received 4 of these figures after purchasing them through a proxy site for Yahoo Japan. I noticed a few differences between the 2 sets though. All have a gold toei sticker, but one set has numbers on the inside of the top flap, stickers on the bag the figures came in, a different made in China stamp on the bottom of the stands and the heads were not attached. I'm just wondering if one set I received was a bootleg. Hey there. I can try to help. All of the legit figures come with heads detached. You have to attach the heads to the bodies and then put them on the stand. The legit figures also have "Made in China" written on the bottom of the stands because all figures are produced in China, even the real ones. No one can really tell for certain though without pictures, but judging from this info alone I'd say they're legit.

Here is my collection so Far. SSJG Goku is coming in the mail. Only missing the 4 "Super" figures. Looks awesome! I'm so jealous right now... But I'm not greedy - I'd be satisfied with just this cool Gohan figure.

I don't have the SSJ Trunks or Tien figures, so I can't vouch for them having their heads already attached, but those look perfectly legit to me. If they have the gold stickers, you should be good no matter what.

With the new Dragonball series, and new merchandise, I've reluctantly started collecting again for the first time since 2007. This figure series is what grabbed my attention and brought me back into collecting. The sculpts are so accurate and detailed, I just couldn't resist. I have a decent collection of them started, I believe I have all but two of them so far. However, I noticed a few of Banpresto's other figure lines are in this same scale, and that you can get a couple additional characters that way. Here's what I have so far:
Dragonball Z: Revival of Freeza set: -Golden Freeza -Goku (Super Saiyan Blue) -Vegeta (Super Saiyan Blue) (I ordered tracksuit Gohan recently, and a friend found the Piccolo from this set for me, but I won't get it until the next time I visit them out of state.)
Dragonball Z set: -Goku (Base) -Kid Gohan -Vegeta (Base) -Future Trunks (Base) -Piccolo -Tenshinhan -Yamcha -Krillin -Chaozu -Goku (Super Saiyan) -Vegeta (Super Saiyan) -Future Trunks (Super Saiyan)
Dragonball Super set: -Goku (Super Saiyan God) -Goku (Base God) -Vegeta (Base God) -Beerus -Champa
Dragonball Heroes set: -Goku (Super Saiyan 3) <This one is perfect scale and outfit match to the Goku and Super Saiyan Goku of the Z set, it is the only figure from this set I purchased though, because the others were what-if characters and whatnot exclusive to some Japanese game of the same name that I don't really care about.
I know there were some Battle of Gods DXF or something figures that were pre-cursors to this line, but they are prohibitively expensive now. Beerus and Super Saiyan God Goku have been re-issued, albeit in slightly different poses with the Super set, so I don't feel the need to have the Battle of Gods versions too. Hopefully Whis will get re-issued in the Super set as well, then I can just disregard those earlier ones altogether. I wonder if the Z series will see a Freeza or Cell, or Super Saiyan Gohan? Are there any other Banpresto lines that clearly overlap with this one like the Heroes sets to pull additional characters from?
I know the figurearts are the faves of most of you guys, but they are just out of the question for me financially. These Banpresto figures really appeal to me as an adult collector due to the early adopter affordability, and they look cool on display, and that's about all I want out of Dragonball stuff these days.
(Edit) > Additional question, are the HCSF or HQDX figures in the same scale as these, or are they smaller? Would be good to know if I could pick up extra characters from those lines, or if they are in a different scale altogether. Thanks if anyone can say for sure.

Now that all the known releases are out, is it safe to say that this line is dead? I know that Bandai and Banpresto are known to abandon lines extremely early, and just wondering if anybody else has thoughts on this. It would be a shame to see such an affordable, high quality, anime acurate line die off so soon...

Akira Some of the HQDX characters are probably in the same 6 inch scale, but that line varies a lot. All the HSCF figures are in about a 4 inch scale. Hope it helps!

I'm going based on memory here, but you may or may not be happy with HSCF SS Gohan. I remember he was pretty big for the HSCF line. For HQ DX, Dodoria is an obvious choice. Most of them are a lot bigger than Chouzoushu though I think...

Most HQDX are between 6-9 inch scale. They will not fit with the Chouzoushu "TFC". Some Scultures, the successor of HQDX certainly already. The HSCF I did not, so I can not comment.

Thanks for the info guys, it is good to be back. Believe it or not, I've missed you all. I have many fond memories of our days on the old forums together. I'm glad you all kept the community alive. While I doubt that at my age I'll ever get back into collecting with the same zeal or excitement as I did in my youth, "The Figure Collection" spoke to me as a renewed fan of Dragonball, and I had to get them. As far as other figures that fit into scale with these, I can confirm that the Dragonball Heroes line is perfectly in scale and has the same type of plastics and paint as The Figure Collection set. As I previously mentioned, I got the Super Saiyan 3 Goku from that set, and aside from the foot stand base being slightly different, the figure itself looks like part of the set. So that might be helpful for anyone wanting that character.
So mostly no to the HSCF and HQDX figures matching in with these? That's what I wanted to know before I spent any money on those, only to be disappointed with the scale. I appreciate the feedback on those. The paint jobs also look like they would clash quite a bit with The Figure Collection as well. I found another set that I am curious about online that I wanted to ask you all about. A couple of years back, there was apparently a limited domestic release of crane grabber machines in Wal*Mart stores that had Dragonball Z Banpresto figurines in them. I recall looking for such machines at the time, but never actually saw one anywhere in the area I live. Anyway, the pictures I saw of them online made me think they -might- be in the same scale as The Figure Collection. The Super Saiyan Trunks and Majin Vegeta in particular had similar poses to the counterparts in The Figure Collection. The eight figure set also included a Perfect Cell that I thought might go well with The Figure Collection if in the same scale. Do any of you have any of these guys, and can confirm for me if this is the case or not? If so, I might try to track them down, but if they are different scale altogether, then that is probably another dead end.
Thanks again for your information and help. I looked through some of the other sections, particularly the "checklists" sections, very impressive catalog of information from the old days there guys. Was like a trip down memory lane clicking through there. If you guys have any questions from that era that you need to pick my brain about, let me know. It looked pretty thoroughly fleshed out to me, but I was pretty big into the collecting scene in the late 90's, early 2000's time period, and I'd be willing to try to recount anything I can remember from back then if it would be of any help.
Very good to talk with you all again.

Hey Akira. I recommend you still to take the DXF Fighting Combination. There are only six figures, but fit perfectly to your collection. In spoilers you see these figures from my previous collection. Since I am now more on larger figures concentrate (HQDX, Scultures, Ichiban Kuji, Resins), I no longer collect the smaller figures. Except the Figuarts Zero. What would in turn also fit to your collection.

Thanks for the info guys, I appreciated the reference pictures RedStar77, that definitely helped me get a sense for those figures. What about those Crane Grabber ones I asked about, does anyone have those guys for comparison, or can tell me for sure if they are too small, too big or whatever? If they are are in scale, I might try to nab the Cell if I get a chance. I'd really like to see Banpresto continue The Figure Collection, it is such a great line for a great price with lots of attention to details. I think these might be some of my most favorite Dragonball figures I've ever picked up. They could do more Z and S sets, or maybe even some original DB guys to scale with the rest.
