Have you ever run into problems? I never really have, and some collectors have blown off my posted links when they say that they can't find something "anywhere" and I find it on Amazon without much difficulty, even when it's either the same or less than issue price.
I literally just got into an argument on myfigurecollection.net with someone who was complaining that they couldn't find a certain figure "anywhere". When I posted a link of the figure on Amazon (which wasn't difficult to find in the slightest), they said they only purchase from certain sites because "most of the figures on Amazon are fakes"... which simply isn't true considering most of the figures from my own collection were purchased from there, and I haven't had to dig very deep to find real sellers. The only time I was duped with a fake was when I bought one from Ebay.
What are your feelings on these types of collectors? I can understand caution while buying, but griping about unavailability, but then intentionally making things difficult for yourself by citing baseless facts is a bit elitist, no?
Opinions? Why do people not want to buy from Amazon when the overwhelming majority of the sellers on there are legit, and what makes you not want to buy from them? Is it simply the fact that it's Amazon and not an actual merch site, because this seems to be the mentality that I'm getting...

I buy from Amazon all the time. I have had issues, but they were pretty much immediately resolved. Amazon's customer support is actually quite effective.
I've never had any issues with fake figures on Amazon that weren't obviously fake.

Amazon is one of the best shopping sites on Earth, bar none.
Whoever you're arguing with either has NO experience buying from there or is just relating other experiences they've "heard".
Amazon has superb customer service and they've resolved all issues I've had with them almost immediately. They answer all my questions the best they can. When I buy through third-party sellers on Amazon I have had excellent service with all of them as well. In fact, a lot of those sellers ALSO sell on eBay AND have their own websites (For example: Toyzinthebox.com sells through their website, eBay AND Amazon).
BlueFin and other importers have also begun distributing to Amazon as well which is why a lot more anime/manga stuff sold directly from Amazon themselves. They see a market there and have capitalized on it. Amazon Prime is also a great deal. $99 for free two-day shipping on ANY items and a free Netflix-esque TV/Movie/Music Streaming service? Great deal! Shipping has just been getting MORE expensive and it is a fantastic package deal to jump on.
My only complaint, which can be rectified by calling Amazon customer support, is sometimes their packing isn't so consistent and I've had some orders in the past where they put little-to-no bubble wrap in the box. I called them, got a partial refund, and they've gotten much better ever since. Like its been said, their customer service is top-notch.
I'm sure there is a possibility of getting fakes or counterfeits, but by buying through Amazon, you're also protected much like on eBay. So if the seller won't refund you, Amazon will and then will go after the seller.
Anyone who doesn't use Amazon as a source for figures is missing out in my opinion.

Like people are saying i can only reiterate that i love buying from Amazon.
I have gotten everything from daizenshuu to deformation on there, including Legend of saiyan, Scultures, dxf, wcf and more, alll of which had their golden toei sticker, as well as most coming in 2 days... All I can say is read reviews, check out feedback, and be smart about sellers based on their information and ratings and you will be golden.
Definitely one of, if not the best, purchasing experiences online.

Amazon is probably one of the easiest and worry free places to buy from on the internet. Anyone who is saying that "most" figures are fakes is a flat out moron. Not to sound too harsh, but the person isn't on this forum so I don't care. If you are really that paranoid about fakes, then just buy from the places that specifically say "fulfilled by Amazon." Amazon is working more and more directly with distributors and toy companies. They can even get their products faster than other American places.
Any issues I have had in the past were resolved pretty quickly by customer service. The only thing I don't like, is the fact that they charge tax in my state, now. But, what can you do? Not gonna stop me from buying from them.

I'll be the first one to recommend Amazon, but one big complaint I have, is their free shipping takes FOREVER! I shouldn't be complaining really considering it's free, but sometimes it takes like 2+ weeks to get my stuff. Other than that I've always had great experiences with Amazon.

I LOVE amazon. I use them for most things and they have amazing customer service. I have opened figures only to find they have some paint errors, and amazon is cool enough to fully refund me as long as i send the figure back. Im diong this right now actually with my Kotobukiya Chun li. She has a nasty gold dot on her right butt cheek. Amazon will fully refund me and send me another one. They are the best.
