So, today the charger for the laptop fried itself. Made sure the laptop was fine, but now the battery is near dead and there's no way to charge it back up.
The laptop is about 4 years old, a Toshiba. So, I can't really find any of the actual replacement chargers in stores. I looked online, but most chargers are cheap things from China and I've read enough horror stories about cheap stuff frying whatever you plug it into.
I was looking at some universal chargers in stores, but even though they are the same 65w I don't know if they are the same amps and if that even matters.
Any help or recommendations on what to do? For the time being, I have to browse on the phone or tablet and that's just not as easy.

Read the amps and stuff on the existing charger you have and find a match on ebay. I think off brand chargers are just fine probably. It's off brand batteries that are iffy.
