We've had strikes and backups since back in November. This has really messed up some things, like Mattel had a LOT of trouble coming through on delivering the Doomsday Unleashed figure, about 2 months delay. It could, also, be the reason that Marvel Legends are rather slowly showing up this year. It's just getting worse...
As of 8:00 pm tonight, the ports on the west coast are officially closed for 48 hrs per the port authority. In it's maiden form, a lockout. After the 48hrs are up, depending on what happens, they either will reopen or stay closed. So, the log jam just got worse. With the 90 or so ships still waiting to be unloaded, they either will go to the east coast or Vancouver to unload if possible. Seems like street dates will not matter.
Makes me wonder how this will affect toys coming in from Asia, and figuarts. I wonder if pushing back the US release dates is Tamashii trying to anticipate the extra time to get through the port and finally into the country?

Didn't this already affect Broly somehow?

Yes, I believe it did delay online retailers in the US getting Broly. The situation seems to be getting worse now and not better. If the ports do get shut down for a longer time after the weekend, it could be a huge mess. But, if companies divert the ships soon enough it might not be quite as bad.

That's interesting. I wonder if that's why something I won from Japan over a month ago still hasn't arrived. It's about a week late.

If you ordered it with snail mail, that's definitely a possibility. I think most international mail gets flown in, though.

The port delay has been happening since this past summer. Essentially strikes by dock workers/truckers/etc. have caused all the packing containers on the ships to be unloaded VEERRRRRYYY slowly. Some ships have sat weeks in line just to get unloaded. It really hit home around Christmas-time as there were MASSIVE delays for some retailers. However, like you all said, it's getting worse. I've read recently that port worker unions and companies have begun cutting shifts which means crates are going to be sitting on the docks and ships even LONGER.
I also believe this is why we saw Broly flip-flopping a lot on Amazon (and some other retailers). Because Amazon ties a lot of their shipping to making "guaranteed" delivery dates, they got nervous cause they didn't know when they were receiving their Broly shipments. This ties in especially to retailers AND companies who get their stuff from overseas. Amazon, BigBadToyStore, Sideshow Collectibles, and even BlueFin aren't the only ones. This is affecting Hasbro, Mattel and the big US companies as well.
Hopefully they wrap this up quick...but some of my friends from Cali (where the news about this is more "prevalent") say this happens almost EVERY year where the Unions get into a huff.

I ended up getting my package from Japan the day after I posted (above). So it took basically exactly a month from Japan, which was a bit weird. I don't know how it was sent... just the cheapest way I imagine. I normally get stuff in 2 or 3 weeks, not 4.

And, the ports are closed for another week.
If it was the cheapest way, it might have been surface mail. That would have been affected by the port delays. Might want to go for the faster/air method of delivery, now.

I won't be surprised if Android 16 is going to delayed here at this rate.

Yeah, seems like a LOT of the different toy lines I collect might be delayed by this. Grrrr

I got both my Broly's 10-15 days before the official December 30th release date. Hope the same goes for Android 16.
I pre-ordered Revoltech Vash The Stampede which was supposed to be in January, but got pushed back to March. I pre-ordered Sh Figuarts Master Asia, supposed to be released tomorrow, but Amazon told me expected delivery is March 15th. Also the SH Figuarts Sasuke Uchiha was supposed to be January but has been pushed back to February.
I WANT MY TOYS!!!

A bit of a late news but there is an "epic" back-log at the West Coast Ports. So it will take a while for things to get back to normal... So for us U.S. folks...don't expect to see your stuff right away... www.cnbc.com/id/102446078
