The attachments got full, so I had to delete them, as we ran out of storage. Anything important that you'd like to show, that was posted in the last day or so, you might want to add again, because it's gone. Remember that all of us share only 200MB of space here, so don't use it for your custom figure or collection photos unless you are perfectly fine with the pictures one day being deleted. I have to clean out attachments a few times a year, so anything added as an attachment will eventually get deleted, so if it is important, it shouldn't be an attachment. It's best to only attach images that you don't care about being permanent. Things like "catch of the day" or pics posted just to answer a question are well suited for DBF's temporary storage if you don't want to throw them on your photobucket, imgur, or other image hosting account.

We were 97% full, so I deleted the majority of the attachments again. I tried to leave all of the custom figure ones, but I don't know if it was successful. Sorry to those of you who recently uploaded attachments, as they are now gone. There isn't a way to view or sort by the date. Please use Photobucket or Imgur for pictures you don't want deleted.

Apologies to you all, but our attachment storage space got full, and I needed to clear them out. I used a script to do the selecting, and theoretically, all of the custom figure topics have their images still. This has still left DBF with over half of its attachment space full, but this should last us a few months hopefully. Please host your images (the ones you care about, and don't just want on here temporarily) on photobucket, imgur, or another hosting site, and then use the IMG insert button to insert the image. You can do this with Facebook too, but Facebook image URLs change every few months, so your images will end up being an [X] the next time Facebook changes the location they store your pic(s). Again, this is only for stuff you want to remain in your posts. If you are just wanting to use the attachment space here for temporary storage, that's fine, continue using it for convenience .

I deleted the attachments, except those that appear in the custom figures section. Attachments can be made again. If there's images you want to remain on DBF, please upload them to Photobucket or IMGUR and post the images here. The attachments are just for temporary storage. Technically, the custom figure pictures should be deleted as well, but because these figures are one of a kind, I like to keep the images on here for people to see them. Someday I will need to delete them as well, because even after doing the cleanup, we are still using 131 megabytes of our allowed 200 megabytes.

FYI: I'll be deleting the attachments uploaded to DBF this weekend. We're just about 100% full and it's time to delete it all. As usual, if the code I run still works, the custom figure pictures may still be safe from deletion. The rest of everything will be going away though. So if you need to save any attached photos, be sure to do so today or tomorrow. I'm not sure which day I'll be doing it yet.

I couldn't delete them last weekend, so i just did it now. We're now at about 60% full. Someday I'll need to stop excluding the custom figure topics, but for now, the custom figure pics uploaded as attachments to DBF are safe.

Storage for attachments is 90% full so I'll have to delete everything probably this weekend. Make sure to host your images on IMGUR or somewhere else if you have anything you don't want deleted.

Ok, I deleted the attachments other than those in custom figures topics. It's an automated process I run via javascript in the console on Firefox, so I apologize to those who may have recently uploaded something I just now deleted. Even after deleting things, we're still 3/4 full. So one day I am definitely going to have to delete custom figure pictures.
Everyone--please use imgur.com to host your images, or another image host. If you understand that the "add attachment" button on DBF is just for temporary storage, and understand that I will have to delete your images every few months, that's ok too. It's not meant to be long term storage. It's just meant to be an easy way to share a quick image.
The only reason I don't delete custom figure attachments is because the work by these members may not otherwise be represented on DBF (or anywhere else) without it being on here. Adrenaline started a custom daizenshuu a few years ago, which I think was supposed to document customs, but he ran out of free time to manage it. And I'm sure Photobucket's demise as a free image host has impacted that too. Maybe someone can eventually pick up where he left off and we can eventually get all of the custom figure pictures saved from attachments... hosted elsewhere in an organized-by-artist manner... and posted on here so I can delete the attachments. But I don't know who might have time to do that.

We're 96% full right now, so I'll be deleting all the attachments later this week. Make sure to host your pics on imgur.com and use the [img]https://i.imgur.com/VNVD5tx.jpg[/img] code to host images you want to stay on your posts.

Ok, I deleted some of them. Most of the ones that remain are in the custom figure section. I'm going to need to delete those eventually too, as we're really getting full here, and those custom figure pictures really, really, really should be hosted on IMGUR or another photo hosting site. 154 mb out of 200 mb is still full.

I deleted all the attachments (other than custom figures category ones and a few other keywords my automated search ignores). We were 96% full and I've been getting nagged about it every day I get on here. Like I said in December, we're getting really full here. Eventually I'm going to need to delete the stuff I've been skipping too. We're still 84.5% full.
With that said...
People who frequently upload photos, especially those of you accessing DBF via a computer, please follow the instructions here and get a Cloudinary account. It's 100 times better than using the temporary attachment function DBF came with. Cloudinary is easier, there are fewer clicks, no size restrictions, and ENORMOUS amounts of storage. dragonballfigures.com/thread/3846/cloudinary-free-image-hosting-members It's free and just takes a few minutes to set up the first time. After that, it is integrated into your DBF account and takes like... 2 seconds to upload a photo to your post. If you frequently add attachments from your phone, it's worth the hassle to set up Cloudinary too, even if you DON'T have access to a computer (to make referring to the instructions easier). Solution: print the instructions I typed if it is too hard to switch back and forth.
Literally the only reason you see me posting pictures the last few months (instead of just Facebook posts) is because Cloudinary makes it so easy for me to upload photos from my computer and phone and post them to DBF. You won't regret the small ordeal of setting it up. I literally click "Upload file", click "Select Files", and click "Ok" and my image is quickly uploaded and immediately posted in my post. It works in PMs... it works in new threads... it works in replies. If you use DBF often, you are really missing out if you don't add Cloudinary to your account.
Literally... 2 seconds.

I cleaned out the attachments. We were 96% full, so it needed to be done. I left the images that the code would allow me to keep from the custom figures section. The pics of customs still leave us really full on attachments lol. I need to eventually just rehost some of these old photos for people so I can delete their attachments off DBF's space.
I highly recommend Cloudinary or IMGUR for hosting images. Cloudinary had an update a few months ago, and I haven't done it yet to my account due to being too busy, but eventually I'll update the "how to" guide for Cloudinary if it needs to be modified. I'm not sure what exactly needs to be done.

I deleted a good portion of the attachments. It's been full for a few weeks. If you are someone who frequently uploads images, please consider setting up Cloudinary, because not only is it much more convenient and modern than the system for temporary attachments on DBF, but... I never have to delete your images! It's honestly really great. Here are the instructions: dragonballfigures.com/thread/3846/cloudinary-free-image-hosting-members
