jibi Personally I think they are almost all great for a 5 inch scale collection. There are a few exceptions that should be avoided though, like Editions Atlas Tien is small and both brands of Fat Buu are very small. The Vegeta and Bebi Vegeta are pretty good. The Editions Atlas Vegeta is a little better sculpted than the DeAgostini one if I remember right, but I don't remember if he is taller or not. Sometimes Editions Atlas figures were taller than the DeAgostini versions (Android 18 is way too long legged, and the SS4 Vegeta, SS4 Goku, and SS4 Gogeta by Editions Atlas are much better figures... I just don't own them). The Android 17 is the same size as the Irwin one. Kid Goku is good. I cut the bases off of some of mine, but not others, so... for example... 17 has no base, but 18 does, so she really isn't that much taller than her brother. More pics here: dragonballfigures.com/post/136669/threadThere are a few of them that are much too large, but alternatives don't really exist for these characters. Chaozu and Pilaf are way too big. Atlas Bebi (gray one) is too big too. Giru is HUGE, so I don't even display him. I don't have Editions Atlas SS Trunks in this pic since it's a couple years old, but he's good too and the same size as the DeAgostini non-SS Trunks.

Sebastien Bihel posted this Android 19 comparison photo on Facebook. Looks like the SH Figuarts Android 19 is barely bigger than the Irwin one in case you're wanting a much higher articulated 19.

Shooler Strzelczyk on Facebook provided me this photo of SHF Dr. Gero next to Irwin Dr. Gero. I think I'm satisfied with the Irwin one (after shortening his arms and legs... which I already did 2 decades ago). The SHF is definitely superior in every way though. If Gero gets bootlegged by Legend Creation (if they even still exist anymore...?) I'd certainly consider buying that for $25. Generally bootlegs end up a tiny bit smaller than legit SHF, so a bootleg would have a smaller face and would probably look just about right with Irwin and Jakks figures. I don't play with my figures, so spending $80+ on the SHF isn't interesting to me.

First of all, Rest in Peace to our great Akira Toriyama. Life must go on. Still waiting for bootlegs of so many shf figures, they finally released something new but why did they have to choose Bulma and Lunch that I already bought? Bought some figures from a seller at an online auction, got a 22nd Tournament kid Goku, a WCF Baba, a wolf effect for my custom Yamcha, and some other useless figures. WCF Baba's head is bigger than Hachette's but Hachette's has a wider body and larger ball, not a big difference, so it's not necessary to buy the WCF if you have the Hachette one. Bought a Dog Chairman and Shen from Dragon Archives. Dog Chairman is exactly what I wanted from this series. Shen is close to 4" scale but I want him to stand up straight so I made him another body. As for the others, the moon-Krillin is 5" scale but I'm not interest. The body of Roshi-Nam is too small and I have no plan to make custom of it so I wouldn't buy it too. It seems that Dragon Archives is not sold in the U. S except for some expensive prices from Japanese sellers on ebay. I'm just having fun alone here. For the next release, I already got 22nd Tournament kid Goku and so many kid Piccolo so I'll skip those two. I'll buy Master Mutaito for its head. King Furry looks better than popy head with dwc Commander Red's body so I'm going to buy it too.

Ascat to be fair (slightly), the Irwin Dr. Gero was made unbelievably tall. But the SHF one is obviously too short for Dr. Gero since Dr. Gero should be approximately Goku's height (not including Goku's hair... or Gero's hat...). Cmak, I didn't know that Bulma or Lunch were bootlegged, unless it's the Bulma in pink dress. Is the Lunch bootleg recent? The dog chairmain looks perfect!! Your Shen custom looks great too! And you're correct, the cost to get the dragon archives figures off ebay (from Japan to US) is pretty poorly priced. It looks like the set of 4 can be had for around $60. I don't see that as a worthwhile price... that's expensive. And you're right, the King Furry looks great. Much better than the Popy head on a Commander Red DWC body, but since I already have that custom, I will keep what I have. How much are you paying for Dragon Archives figures in China?

Bulma in pink dress & bike and power Jiren were bootlegged for a while but then Bulma & bike got a cheaper version. I just want Power Jiren and even the bootlegs are still very expensive to this day. My AB bike is turning yellow and now considering buying a bootleg shf bike. For the Lunch, I guess you've seen a lot of bootlegs being sold on eBay. I bought dog chairman and Shen here for about usd $7. It will cost over $10 when released, but the price will drop over time. And kid Goku is usually more expensive than others. The Goku(turning to Oozaru) I bought before felt a bit small. There's a bootleg from China now, about 13cm tall, which is too big, but it works better with shf scale. Since Goku gets bigger as he turns to Oozaru, I figured it's better to be too big than too small.

A great comparison photo by Cuitláhuac Sandoval Anguiano of SH Figuarts Android 19 and Dr. Gero with their 20 year old counterparts by Irwin Toy.

Pics by Cuitláhuac Sandoval Anguiano on Facebook. I think that's the JacksDo robot suit on the left...? He said it is this one, but I don't recognize it. He said he got it off Ali Express. Also, some other pics he posted previously. SH Figuarts Meta Cooler, the HG premium one (or whatever it was called), and a custom one made from a Dragon Stars Frieza. Technically, none of these are 5 inch scale, but the HG one is the closest... it is just a little bit small. Great pics of a variety of Cell figures. Various Raditz figures.... the Irwin is technically the best size, but perhaps not the best looking. This pic shows how a few SHF compare to an Irwin Yajirobe and bootleg Irwin Chi Chi. The Oolong is 3D printed.

I'm glad to finally have visual confirmation that these bootleg SS2 Gohan figures are not 5 inch scale. I've been wondering for about a year now. The bodies are reasonably the right size if you wanted to make a Beast Gohan figure, but at this point, you might as well just wait (or put one of these bootleg heads on an Evolve body).
