I finally received something I actually like in the mail yesterday! These are Ultimate Grade (UG) bootlegs. The original, legitimate figures came out in (I think) 2017 and they are quite expensive now, so I was only willing to buy a set of bootlegs to see if they would work for head swaps. The faces are slightly wider than typical Jakks/Irwin faces, with ears sticking out quite a bit, but the hair sculpts are fantastic and a very acceptable length for Irwin/Jakks figures. The bootlegs have slightly sloppy paint jobs, but the casting (molding) looks really great, particularly on the most important part--the hair!
While the width of the face, eyes, and eyebrows, and the prominence of the ears is something I'll want to reduce by sanding and a little bit of resculpting... the amount of jaw/chin these have makes them look very good for putting on typical Jakks style necks. I will likely have to do something to the back of the hair/head to get it to work properly, but that's better than having to sculpt this hair myself from scratch. I'll likely reduce the size of the nose a little bit, but not much. As you can see here, with a WCF SSB Vegito added in to the photo, the WCF heads are too large generally for Jakks/Irwin figures. That's what makes me so happy about these UG figures, because they are slightly smaller than WCF! Here's a comparison with just the WCF and the bootleg UG. My WCF might be a bootleg. It was not purchased in the box. Here's SS Trunks WCF vs. UG
The hair sculpt on SS Trunks is INCREDIBLE. I haven't decided what to do with this one yet. Ideally I'd like to make a DBS custom, but the head could also go on a DBZ one. WCF Goku Black vs UG The Goku Black has his eyes a little too far apart in my opinion, and the strand of hair in front of his right ear makes his head look too wide. But that can be boiled, pushed down, and glued flat, fixing that. I am also going to have to fill in the unsightly seam between his bangs and the rest of his hair. And figure out a body to use for him... I'm only going to make this custom if Dragonball Evolve doesn't come out with a Goku Black soon, or I get a different alternative. You'll note that his neck isn't painted black, so his neck looks really, really goofy. Similar to the others, he will work on a Jakks neck without too many issues, and his hair is a great size. Finally, here's Champa. UG vs. an authentic Banpresto WCF.
I haven't seen enough DB Super to make this decision, so perhaps someone else would like to give me their opinion... but I believe the WCF head is likely the better size for 5 inch scale. Do you agree?

Branjita Turns out i had a screen-shot from where I won the auctions on the armor-less and 100% Freezas. They ended at 21.50ea. With 10$ shipping and, "I think", that the seller combined the shipping charges.

The DB Evolve wave 2 figures are a must-buy for anybody willing to collect DB Super figures. They are $10 each on Amazon and release later this month. They are on ebay right now for terrible prices. Unlike wave 1, where only SSB Goku scaled with Irwin and Jakks (SSB Vegeta does too... but he's quite tall for a Vegeta) the characters in wave 2 appear to actually scale with each other!!!
I received a bootleg Dragonball Heroes adult SS3 Gotenks that is 5 inch scale. These are tricky to find these days as they released these bootlegs a few years ago and they were typically sold in a set of 3 (SS4 Goku, this Gotenks, and a SS3 DB Heroes female hero character I don't know the name of). And I also received a bootleg Figuarts Super Broly (Wrath Broly) by a bootleg company named Legend Creation. I purchased it from AliExpress with a coupon, but even with the coupon, after taxes and shipping, it was $31 just like the ones you can find on ebay without all of the hassle. I purchased it when I saw a video on youtube comparing the legit one to the bootleg, and the bootleg is a lot smaller than the legit... but not small enough for 5 inch scale.
The bootleg Figuarts Broly brings attention to the Dragon Stars SS Broly's strange proportions (his long shins). I question whether I want to swap the SS Broly's upper body onto the bootleg Figuarts' lower body and find Wrath Broly some shorter legs. Wrath Broly shouldn't be as tall as SS Broly to be to scale.
The bootleg is really nice for a bootleg and significantly smaller than the legitimate Figuarts figure, which is why I bought it. However, it isn't really small enough to be 5 inch scale. It's a bit too tall.
Here's a comparison to bootleg WCF figures.
Dragon Stars SS Broly vs Legend Creation bootleg Wrath Broly vs Dragonball Evolve SS Broly
I'm intimidated by the complexity of the Figuart bootleg's articulation, but I'd like to discover a way to decrease Wrath Broly's height without having to spend a lot of money or do a lot of resculpting. I'm questioning whether I could use Dragon Stars Vegeta 1.0's legs to decrease his height a bit, but I don't own it, so I can't compare the two. Customizing this figure makes me feel like a fish out of water, because chopping up and Irwin or Jakks figure's arms and legs to shorten them is quite an easy task and very easy to do in a way that doesn't affect the articulation massively. This figure is much more complicated.

Branjita I'll try and take some pictures of Demoniacal Fit Ginyu and Figure-rise SSJ4 Vegeta legs tomorrow to compare with SHF Broly.

Branjita As promised, here's a comparison shot of the legs of Broly, DF Ginyu and Figure-rise SSJ4 Vegeta (I used the torso for another custom so only the legs are there). The Figure-rise SSJ4 Vegeta legs are about an inch shorter than Broly's so they look pretty good to me for your intended purpose.

Hmmmmmmm! I might have to consider those. I'm questioning whether I should just lengthen the thighs on the Dragon Stars SS Broly and keep him far away from my Movie 8 Legendary SS Broly... so I can't tell the DB Super movie one is taller than that one

I'm the same situation as you that got the Dragon star Broly and shf wrath Broly. Look like the shf wrath Broly and full power Broly is perfect for 5 inch scale refer to your last picture. So if we forget the dragon stars Broly and buy one bootleg shf full power Broly then all problem will be solve. Or we can just ignore full power Broly is bigger than wrath Broly, then we don't need to do anything.(That's what I'm going to do) Bought a Jacksdo Kami that came with a class E Popo recently.(I use Evolve Goku for comparison from now on) I saw some members here already own it. They're suppose to be for shf scale but still good for 5 inch scale. The class E Popo is bigger than the Deagostini one. It's exactly the same as the DX one, just the minification version of it. Bought an old MIB figure recently to remake Firecracker. The one I bought is agent J so I need to paint the hands and neck.(agent K will be better if you can found one) There's ball joint for arms and legs that make it quite movable, sure the best custom base for Firecracker and Tournament Announcer.

Via Juan (I don't remember his member name on here... my head is too full of figure knowledge ) Here's DB Evolve series 2 with Jakks Mecha Frieza and Figuarts Frieza (a bootleg one). I am thrilled with series 2!! There might be some customizing ideas brewing! It looks as if Broly and Jiren share the same hands. I can't think of any characters Jiren's body would work for beyond Buff Master Roshi. These bodies are too buff for making into a Tien.
Broly is perfect for customizing into a shirtless Nappa that scales with the Irwin Nappa thanks to Alberth Paztrana

Woah, I love that they scale better, shame Broly is now a real black sheep, but, this is still better than everyone being the same size. Glad Bandai's actually trying from the looks of things.

I finally received my Dragon Stars Wrath/Ikari Broly from Amazon (it actually came a few days earlier than expected), but still a couple weeks slower than the ones people preordered from Entertainment Earth. This will be a review, but mostly a comparison to 5 inch scale, which I think he's excellent for. Review of Dragon Stars Broly:To be honest, I was instantly disappointed with him, straight from the package. Bandai America is generally spot-on with colors due to transformation effects. For example, the non-SS Vegeta has a dark blue outfit, while the SS one has a lighter blue, and the SSB Vegeta has a bluish tint to colors. In this case, I feel like they painted Broly like he was a Super Saiyan. The pants are the same color as Dragon Stars' SS Broly (which... to be fair... in the character design sheets for the movie... Broly's pant color is the same in every transformation), the green boot tips and Ba's ear are a much brighter greenish yellow than SS Broly's which looks really bad, and well... the boots and wrist bands are darker, but that brings me to the biggest thing I don't like—his armor, boots, and wrist bands aren't black. They are dark blue. I hate that. I will be repainting mine in the near future, because the dark blue irritates me a lot. It doesn't come across in my pictures as well as it does in real life, but... they are dark blue. It looks cartoonish (I know... it's a carton... but...)... it's strange. I wouldn't be surprised if Bandai America re-released this figure as SS Broly, but I feel like they really messed up the colors. If they were to release an SS version with darker colors... I would totally recommend people head swap them... I really like the faces and hair sculpts of all of the other Dragon Stars Broly figures, but I feel like this one misses the mark. The hair's not bad... but I don't like the face. He suffers from a common problem Dragon Stars' open-mouth face sculpts probably all share—his face isn't long enough; his jaw isn't open looking, and so the open mouth looks almost like it's a sticker someone is wearing over their closed mouth. If you compare him to the Figuarts (or in my case... Figuarts bootleg by Legend Creation) figure, you can see how much better his face looks since his jaw is open. The other thing is... his eyes don't look right. I'm not sure why they did the eyes like this. You could probably add a tiny pupil with a pen (don't use a Sharpie) and improve him quite a bit. Beyond these things... I absolutely love his size for 5 inch scale Wrath/Ikari Broly. The Figuarts one is waaaaaay too big for a 5 inch scale collection, and even the Legend Creation bootleg of the Figuarts one is a bit too large for 5 inch scale as well. I think this one is pretty much perfectly sized. For Figuarts fans... I think they'll love to put the base-form Broly head on this body. Like I've hinted at here... I don't own the legit Figuarts Broly, so the bootleg parts are probably a bit different. If I was going to attach the base-form head to this body, I would shave the neck peg's ball a lot smaller and then drill the hole in Broly's hair/head bigger to fit the peg. I think it'd look excellent. Comparisons:Dragon Stars Wrath/Ikari Broly vs. Legend Creation bootleg Super Broly In all honesty, the Legend Creation bootleg is better in every way... but he's simply too large for a 5 inch scale collection. He looks weird with the rest of my figures, because he's so large. At approximately $30 on ebay, he's a good value. But... I really think everyone with a 5 inch scale collection needs the Dragon Stars body for this representation of Broly in their collection. It's a much better size. ssj2dakota reminded me that I could use the SS head on the Legend Creation bootleg in my collection... and you know what? That's exactly what I'll do. The larger size is more acceptable in that form to me. The size of Dragon Stars Broly works well with Dragon Stars SS Broly. He's smaller, and that's important. In the future I intend on lengthening the thighs on Dragon Stars SS Broly. It would fix his proportions and make him taller. Here's the part I really care about. He scales extremely well with Dragonball Evolve SSB Goku and SSB Vegeta (which means he scales really well with Irwin and Jakks figures, as well as everything else 5 inch scale). I'm not ready to start customizing again, but I do have the beginnings of a base-form Broly for my collection. The Legend Creation head is a little big (which means the Figuarts one would be even bigger), but I think it'll work. I'll need to lengthen the legs and arms to make him more proportionate to Broly's character design. This is a cropped version of TDC's excellent height chart. Experiments:Here's what some people would like to see. Like I said above, the Legend Creation bootleg of Figuarts Super Broly is smaller and possibly a little different from the legit Figuarts version. I couldn't manage to "fake" attach the bootleg head to the huge Dragon Stars neck peg, so I just had to settle for holding the face up to the neck peg. I think it'd be perfect with some X-acto knife work and drilling. I will likely end up using this Legend Creation head on the body of my Dragon Stars Broly when I make time to customize again. The face looks better. Here's what the heads all look like together. Legend Creation bootleg base-form Broly, Dragon Stars Wrath Broly, and Legend Creation bootleg Wrath Broly. Overall, I'm really happy with the figure, but I am disappointed with the paint colors.

Some old dragon stars are on sales here, 2 for hkd$99(around usd $13) so I bought Gotenks to see if I can make it an easy Gogeta. Just like what I guess it is shorter than 5" Evolve Goku. I have to swap it to UFS foots I got to make it as tall as Evolve(pic on right), and you can see the wcf head of Gogeta I tried are too big so need some work to customize anyway. Btw I didn't see any bootlegs for adverge of Broly movie yet so I bought the lego Cheelai and Lemo. Their head are about the same size of chara punch, still fine for customs. So far this Lemo's head is the only choice but Cheelai got another one from...something like Ultimate Grade(I don't know what's the series called), its scouter is better but I don't know how big it is. I guess it's about the same size of this Lego. Recently there's a bootleg for Master Roshi with two sizes. I bought the smaller size, it scale with 5 inch and even scale better with shf. Just need to repaint it you can make it into any Master Roshi. Now or never, just two easy customs I better finish it when I holding them on my hands. For the Master Roshi I paint it into the outfit of his first time appear. The head look a little bit big. I'll swap its head when I see any dwc/wcf cheap. And for the Gogeta I customized a smaller vegito's head instead. Should be post these on bootleg's thread but let me post it together, since the Gohan still close to the scale of Irwin and Jakks. Even bootlegs got bootlegs now. There're bootlegs for some LG. I don't know what's their original size of LG but I saw those real things before, not exactly dwc/wcf size, it's about 1.5 times bigger. May be too big but the head of gohan still fine for customs, will be an easy custom to put its head on my Mcdonald Vegeta.

Incredible post Cmak!!!! For Roshi, I would recommend a Chara Puchi head if you can still find one for a reasonable price. The size would be perfect. DWC's Roshi has a large head. I might need to look for that Roshi... I would want to make him look like he did in DBZ episode 1. The Gogeta turned out really cool. I hadn't thought about using Dragon Stars Gotenks' body. That's a great idea. I haven't seen those bootlegs of LG's unlicensed WCF figures. Could you post a picture of one next to HSCF Saiyan Saga Gohan? I believe you own that figure (or used to own him).
