Well, Spider-Man is part of the Infinity Gauntlet story line, so it makes sense. I am surprised they finally managed to get the rights to use him again.

I'm excited, because it looks like Marvel will be the one controlling it's writing and future stories. Sony was messing things up, big time.
Interested to see the "new direction" they will be taking him in. Seeing as how they can't really just fit the reboot movies into the MCU without changes, I wonder if it will be rebooted?

But is he just going to appear for a bit or is he going to be part of the movie? Last time I heard they were told no when they asked for spiderman for the civil war thing.

Well, Andrew Garfield is officially NOT Spiderman, anymore. Looks like it's a reboot and new character for the MCU. His first appearance will be in an upcoming MCU movie, and then a new solo movie. Kevin Fiege and the MCU are the main writers with creative control.
Sony has distribution rights for the solo movie and will have a cut of profits. On paper they have the final say in creative decisions...but, they would have to be complete idiots to try and mess with Marvel's writing.

Rumors abound of using another Spider-man like Miles Morales or having another ethnicity for the character. Sorry, but changing Spidey is like changing Superman and Batman's true identities. They finally got Spidey back for the MCU, it BETTER be white-bread Peter Parker.

must respond as these thoughts consume me on a daily basis and I never get a chance to express them (I tend to obsess over them which leads to much distress and something tells me very few want to share in the experience my thoughts can provide).
I don't know what makes people (including myself) so conceited and delusional that we manage to convince ourselves there needs to be some greater purpose or meaning to justify existence. We're here. We're alive. Why? Who knows. Maybe there is no explanation. Why not find a way to enjoy it while we can. It's taken much consideration but I choose to believe life is indeed a gift. What's the alternative to life? Death. Need the meaning of life? Live. It sounds so naive and simplistic but thinking this gives me some measure of peace.

I tend to agree. Life doesn't have any objective, grand meaning. Just do stuff until you die. If possible, some of that stuff should be enjoyable.

I agree with you completely, many people were confused about how they made The Flaming torch from the Fantastic Four black/African american, when for years hes been white in the comics,tv shows etc. I think making a different ethnic spider man wouldn't be a smart move. It seems Disney is just trying to hard to be politically correct. If they want to add ethnicity to Marvel comics i think they should just use some of the charecters already exist and are different ethnic groups, such as the black panther, bishop, etc and make movies about them instead of making existing white characters and changing their races. Another idea is they could make a totally new super hero that is another ethnicity instead of tampering with pre-existing characters. Like what they could instead of making a black, mexican,Colombian,Chinese,Hawaiin, native american spider man or what ever, they can keep spider man white peter parker and just create a new character, call him the tarantula or recluse and have that new character be a different ethnic person
